Hello! Are you ready to delve into the world music knowledge? Here is your place! I offer you music lessons where you will get to know percussion instruments, but also the traditional music, the historical background and much more! Always with passion and dedication because of the love I have for teaching and music! I'm specializing in latin, brazilian and flamenco. So, I can teach you a wide variety of instruments and tradition. In the latin/cuban music you can learn congas, timbales and bongó, but also: güiro and shekeré. With brazilian music I can teach you pandeiro, rebolo/tan tan, surdo, cuica, reco reco, tamborim, zabumba and batucada instruments like timbao or dobra. And for flamenco tradition you can learn cajón, but also if you are interested the different partterns of the palmas. All my lessons are prepared for the student, so depending on you, we'll set up the lessons. But here you have the specific points I find more important: - Technical basis: the technique is essencial to be a good percussionist. - Music theory: it can help you to read the scores or to understand the music. - Different rhythms, patterns and styles: latin, brazilian and flamenco are a huge diverse world of music that we will discover in our lessons. - Music accompaniment: we'll learn the role of percussion as the base of a band. - Improvisation: a percussion player can also shine, so I'll teach you the language to talk with the drums. For the lessons I can provide you the instruments! Also, lessons can be individual, duos or groups. You only need to bring your desire to learn! I have experience as a teacher with individual lessons and group lessons with workshops. This taugh me that the passion I have for music and teaching and the emotion of the students was the perfect combination to have fun while learning. Don't hesitate to contact me! I wanted to keep growing in music, so I decided to go to the conservatory where I learned classical and contemporary music. Because of different teachers I got to know latin, brazilian and african music and I kept learning until I decided to move to Rotterdam to focus on latin music at Codarts.

Trusted teacher: The moment of engagement between the performer and the listener it is the most intense feeling I’ve ever felt. It is a very unexpected moment, it just happens and there you are holding your instrument in front of people you are sharing your performance with. Suddenly everyone is waiting for you to continue the story you have been telling and everyone is just at the same time on the same place and you have what they need: a message they want to hear and they know you will share it with them. So once you do you reach that sensation, that moment, and what happens afterwards it is magic! It is absolutely wonderful how one, a hundred or even thousands of humans can be on hold for the same message and once it is delivered they just feel it the same exactly way as you do. This sensation is not only happening on a performance but also on a teaching situation. I’ve been teaching for some year from children to adults and I discovered that if you put all your energy all your love and passion and you give it all as a teacher or as a student you can reach this magical communication levels! Which makes a lesson such an experience! That is why as a teacher I am mostly focused on creativity and trough it the discoveries of your instrument always basing this process on your goals and ambitions which are the most important pillars of a musician!! Trusted teacher: I am a classical percussionist and a drummer, with many years of teaching and playing experience. I completed a Bachelor and a Master course in classical percussion in Italy, now I am studying a Master in Jazz & Pop drums at the HKU in Utrecht. I have an excellent knowledge of musical theory due to my studies and I love teaching because sharing my passion with others is important to me. I have experience teaching many students, between the ages of 5 and 50, since I was 18. I taught in two music schools, led projects in kindergartens and gave percussion instrument lessons in high schools. I trained students as percussionists in two school orchestras. Additionally, I used to write and produce learning materials with my students, to encourage accessible learning. My main teaching objective is to help students to find their personal way of playing and studying, without forgetting the most important thing; having fun. I understand that music should be fun, and those students not having fun will not get the best results. I usually start my lesson with the basics such as reading music, holding sticks and posture. I evaluate the student’s strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to reflect and evoke healthy self-criticism, to help them improve with a positive attitude. I always try to inspire my students, and at the same time I am inspired by them, as by playing music together we can learn a lot from each other. Whilst my students have learned a lot from me, likewise, I have learned a lot from my students and this has been very valuable to my development. I believe I would be an asset to you, because I am a flexible, open minded, experienced teacher.

I've been taking cajon lessons with Valentin for a year now. There aren't many cajon teachers, but luckily Valentin is a really good one. The lessons are fun and efficient. He's also very flexible about lesson times. I hope he continues teaching for a long time, because he's becoming a bit too successful as a drummer :)
