Hello!

Being a singer and a singing teacher, many many times I have found myself in the situation of having to work on ear training, or solfège, or music theory... or all the above listed!
Approaching music and having no clue of these elements can totally be intimidating and off-putting, but in 2023 I feel like it’s a pity that these subjects still are looked at with such a fear. I want to prove to you that building this basic knowledge can be easy, accessible, and not heavy at all!
My program is not fixed: I’ll build it on your specific needs, whether they are preparing an exam, curiosity, or getting better at pitch matching... we will discuss it together. I have many books and materials, and I honestly prefer to draw blackboards by myself a lot of times. Unless you want to, I won’t ask you to buy any material, so the only cost that you will have to sustain is for the time of the class.
Extra information
I don’t teach Harmony. That’s a different subject that I don’t cover.

About Me
I teach voice both to adults and to children basing my method on my classical training and practical experience as a child, singing in opera houses. But I would like to point out that as far as teaching to children goes, I don’t like to push them over the natural limit of the human voice. I like to always be sure that the path I’m guiding my pupils on is first of all a healthy one!
So what you can expect from my classes is a solid ground on how the body works, how to breathe correctly, and a good amount of vocalises and exercises. On top of that of course, we end up singing something! Fun isn’t forgotten ;)
Education
Born in Milan in 1994, Caccamo graduated magna cum laude from the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatoire, where she completed both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees under Silvana Manga. She furthered her vocal training through masterclasses with Bonfadelli, Cuberli, Dantone, D’Intino, Galou, Lanzillotta, Lowe, Luisi, Mameli, Mianiti, Prina and Taddia. In 2023 she got a EQF8 degree in Historic and Contemproary Theatrical Singing.
Experience / Qualifications
Elena Caccamo is a Milan-born mezzo-soprano whose career has developed from an exceptional early experience at Teatro alla Scala towards an increasingly distinctive engagement with contemporary music and new creation. Her artistic repertoire today moves freely between Baroque, bel canto, twentieth-century music and the contemporary stage.
Since 2022, under the guidance of Alda Caiello, she has devoted particular attention to contemporary repertoire, performing works by Rihm, Berio, Stockhausen, Dallapiccola, Jarrell and Walton, as well as music by Mauro Lanza and Claudio Panarello with Divertimento Ensemble. Her work in new creation includes the three female lead roles in Alberto Cara’s Lamberto!, written specifically for her, Rahab in Paolo Marzocchi’s Stabat Matres, and Lady Gladys Monmouth in the world premiere of Matteo Franceschini’s Dorian Gray, with the Haydn Foundation and a libretto by Stefano Simone Pintor. She has also performed Jakob Lenz at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago and in 2026 made her French debut at Opéra Grand Avignon and Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris in Franceschini’s Décameron. A new opera is currently being composed for her for 2027.
Alongside contemporary music, Caccamo maintains a strong connection with the operatic repertoire. Her roles include Carmen, Rosina, Angelina, Cherubino, Lola, Flora, Modestina, La Ciesca, Suora Zelatrice and La Badessa. Carmen has become a recurring role, including in Gianmaria Aliverta’s acclaimed La tragédie de Carmen. Her work in Baroque and early music has taken her to the Festival della Valle d’Itria, where she performed in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Paisiello’s La grotta di Trofonio and Steffani’s Baccanali, recorded live by Dynamic in its first modern performance. She has also appeared in Monteverdi’s Il ballo delle Ingrate and at the Monteverdi Festival in Cremona. Other notable engagements include Suor Angelica in theatres across Italy, The Little Sweep at Teatro alla Scala, and an operatic film production with Teatro Massimo di Palermo. During the pandemic she participated in the YAP Program at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, subsequently appearing in numerous concerts there.
Her artistic journey began at an exceptionally young age. From 2003 to 2013 she was a member of the Children’s Choir of Teatro alla Scala under Bruno Casoni and Alfonso Caiani, participating in numerous productions and concerts with the Filarmonica della Scala, Orchestra dei Pomeriggi Musicali, RAI National Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano “Giuseppe Verdi”. In 2005 she made her first solo appearance at La Scala in Tannhäuser under Jeffrey Tate and subsequently performed solo roles in Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Die Zauberflöte, Tosca and Peter Grimes, working with conductors including Kazushi Ono, Sir Andrew Davis, Zubin Mehta, Roland Böer, Omer Meir Wellber, Nicola Luisotti and Robin Ticciati. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Filarmonica della Scala under Gustavo Dudamel, Roberto Abbado and Pinchas Steinberg, among others, and has collaborated with Teatro Comunale di Bologna and MITO Festival.

Hello!

I’m Elena, I’m Italian and I’m an opera singer, currently actively performing in the contemporary field :)
On top of my artistic career, which is now 20+ years old, I have 10 years of solid everyday experience in the musical teaching field, with particular regards for online teaching.
My specialties are: teaching opera voice and kids’ vocality. For both of these, any level, even absolute beginner is 100% welcome!

I’ve been training children and teens ever since I graduated from my position at La Scala children choir at 18 years old. I love working with kids, and it warms my heart to think of how many little faces I have already had the privilege of meeting thanks to this career. I have helped so many access to the children choirs of their respective cities, and with so many many others I have simply participated in their musical learning journey, which makes me equally proud and happy.

Teaching adults is a completely different matter, of course, but it’s probably even more thrilling to me because it allows me to spend the day navigating the fascinating routes of lyrical singing technique. I know how opera studies can be confusing - to say the least; I try my best to represent a safe place for anybody who wants to explore this ancient form of art, as well as to clarify its key points and guide my students to building a correct repertoire.

I give lessons for any kind of purpose:
- learning music
- improving musicality
- preparing an audition
- finding our own voice
- overcoming insecurity

Everybody is different, so everybody has their own path to go through; I cater my lessons to the pupil’s needs, and even if the method is always classical, I make sure that the hour of lesson is a fun moment as well as a learning experience.
Music is life and life is fun!

If what you have read interests you, I’m here to answer all your questions, so don’t be afraid: write me and I’ll see how I can help you!

During the lesson, we will take the time to get to know each other better, assess levels and goals, and start to work on them already.

I can’t wait to meet you!
