Hi there! I'm Velika, your new English teacher. I'm originally from Australia but I've been living here for 3 years now (two in A Coruña, and one in Barcelona). I worked for two years teaching children and teenagers in public schools in A Coruña. Before that, I worked as a tutor in Australia and Germany. I have extensive experience teaching English. I also have a Master's degree—in other words, I am fluent in English. What motivates me most right now is helping my students speak English. There's usually a lot of lack of confidence in speaking, even if you know how to read and listen and have a B2 level in grammar! That needs to change. In my favorite classes, we'll read something real, because that way we learn more about the culture of English speakers... and then we'll talk about it! And you'll learn to hold your own, answering questions, explaining the whys and hows—ALL IN ENGLISH. Maybe you should get together with another friend so we can have a really good practice session. I also offer tutoring sessions to help with homework, exams, and travel preparation. As you can see, I speak a little Spanish...but I probably won't use it in my classes, only in emergencies!
