The course aims, firstly, to master the fundamental principles of Hebrew grammar and, secondly, to acquire a basic vocabulary enabling students to read and translate simple passages from the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament. The course also aims to progressively develop text analysis skills: identifying verb forms, noun structures, and the main particles specific to Hebrew. Historical and cultural elements may be addressed in dedicated sessions as needed. The teaching method is based on a progressive approach (I prioritize understanding over performance), combined with attentive and caring support, using a variety of tools adapted to the expectations and profile of each student. Finally, for the most advanced students or those already possessing a basic knowledge of biblical Hebrew, I offer an introduction to Aramaic and Syriac, sister languages of Hebrew, also present in some biblical writings.
