Hi! I am Jaime, a Spanish clarinetist and composer from Madrid, and I currently live and work in Amsterdam. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the Amsterdam Conservatory cum laude. As a clarinetist, I regularly play with various top Dutch orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Netherlands Wind Ensemble. I have also performed at international festivals and academies. But what I enjoy most about music is sharing it with others! That is why I take great pleasure in teaching clarinet to both beginners and advanced players. Whether you are just starting to play the clarinet, want to improve your technique, are preparing for an audition, or simply want to enjoy making music: we can fully tailor the lessons to your level, goals, and interests. I think it is important that lessons are not only educational, but also relaxed and fun. We work on a good foundation, musicality, and self-confidence, and of course on the music YOU want to play. My name is Hoviv, I am 32 years old and I am a clarinetist, pianist, orchestra and choir conductor. I offer clarinet lessons for all levels, from beginners to preparation for entrance exams to the conservatory or support at the academy. The practice of the instrument is at the heart of my teaching, so I try to help students understand and deal with the different issues related to the instrument by letting them play as much as possible. There are different ways to achieve this, such as duets with piano (I can accompany the student), two clarinets with other students or with me or other instrumentalists, but the main thing is to have fun playing. I constantly adapt to the requests and needs of the students with whom I always build good relationships. My teaching is based on listening, sharing and developing a passion for music in general.

I teach clarinet while adapting to the learner's abilities, child or adult. I like to work on different aspects of music at the same time : learning the instrument, learning melodies by ear, note reading and music theory, improvisation. I'm a multi-instrumentalist and while I started with classical music, I now play mostly in pop, folk and swing projects. I invite students to discover music through it's many possibilities and develop their own creativity, whatever their level of ability.
