For children, I focus on making the first steps into music playful and exciting. I use age-appropriate exercises, simple songs, and creative activities that spark their curiosity and keep them motivated. My aim is to nurture not only their technical growth, but also their natural sense of rhythm, imagination, and love for music. For adults, I offer lessons that can be adapted to a wide range of goals. Some students come to me wanting to enjoy music as a relaxing hobby, and for them I design engaging and enjoyable lessons that build confidence step by step. Others are preparing for conservatory entrance exams, orchestra repertoire, performance opportunities, and with them I work on developing advanced technique, musical expression, and audition readiness. In every case, I create a supportive and structured environment that helps students stay motivated and progress steadily.

Hello! I've been teaching continuously for over 10 years, and I'd like to explain what you can expect from a class with me. Personalized approach: The most important thing is to know what you want to achieve. I will tailor the lessons to your needs: playing for pleasure at home is not the same as preparing for entrance exams (although always with the same rigor). Your goals will influence the methodology, the organization of your studies, the repertoire, and so on. Relaxed (but rigorous) environment: Once you've defined your goals, classes will be dynamic and pressure-free. Note! "Relaxed" doesn't mean undemanding; we'll just avoid military methods—especially given my personality and sense of humor. Music, not just notes: My methods are very dynamic, with a special emphasis on hearing and musicality. No "read, play, and turn the page." I avoid approaches obsessed with reading sheet music without memorizing, listening, or understanding what is being played. I want you to own your performance and make artistic decisions. Warning! I might even make you sing. No stylistic barriers: Thanks to my training in Jazz and Modern Music, I give equal importance to all genres. Adapting to your tastes, we'll go from baroque to blues, from Haydn to bebop... or even Michael Jackson. Why not? If you identify with this approach, contact me! My name is Miriam, I am a graduate in Master of Classical Music at KASK & Conservatorium in Ghent. I've been teaching cello to children, teenagers and adults for 10 years, so I've acquired the necessary experience to be able to adapt to the different and personal needs and objectives of each student. My teaching methodology focuses on creating a friendly and relaxed environment (which does not mean undemanding!) in which students feel confident to express their own ideas and worries. In my lessons I focus on technical and postural questions, but we also reflect together on the music, as I like my students to develop their own musical ideas and not just imitate the teacher. Growing with joy in playing – developing technique through favorite pieces. One of the most exciting aspects of playing the piano is the ability to play favorite tunes from movies and Disney fairy tales. You can easily learn and play popular songs that both children and adults will enjoy. This makes practicing the piano even more interesting and inspiring, as you can enjoy familiar and beloved melodies. Learn your favorite melodies with fun In my lessons, we'll explore jazz and pop music together on the piano. We'll play the music you love. If you'd also like to learn classical works, we're happy to incorporate that music into the lessons. You'll also learn music theory and ear training (solfeggio) – in a relaxed and playful way, so the focus is always on fun.
