Trusted teacher: <<<<Welcome to Inua Art Atelier – A Real Studio Experience>>>> “A creative learning space rooted in professional atelier training — where you’ll grow your artistic skills, try diverse techniques, and enjoy the freedom to explore like a true artist.” 👋 Who I am? My name is Shuchen — I’m a trained visual artist from China and France, now based in Delft. In these workshops, I share the creative learning style I grew up with: each session explores a new material, technique, or concept — just like in a professional art atelier. 🌟 Why to join? - Grow your skills and explore different styles. - Learn how a real artist be trained. - Meet mind-liked people ignite the local art community Join any week — each session is independent, but connects to a bigger journey. ✨ Workshop Details: When: Every Wednesday, 19:00–22:00 (2hours guidance +1hour self drawing time ) Small Group: Max 8 people for personalised attention. 🎨 Not just a workshop — a creative journey. Each week we explore a new topic or technique — from line drawing, sketch to painting. Get to know materials: pencil, charcoal, acrylic, oil painting, Chinese ink. Dive in to various styles: Impressionism, Fauvism and Surrealism — just like in real art school. Every session is beginner-friendly and independent, so you can join anytime. It’s perfect if you want more than a one-time experience — and want to grow real skills over time. Most short workshops focus on just one thing — plant, portrait or landscape. But real artists learn to see and understand the principles. So that you can find your own way to create. In my workshops, we go deeper and learn the grammer of visual art: exploring value, color theory, composition and creativity through many styles. Think of it like an art school evening — but cozy, flexible, and beginner-friendly. 👩‍🎨My teaching method: I’m an art teacher with my own atelier, and I also teach at a local art centre. I run creative workshops for both kids and adults from all kinds of backgrounds. I love designing classes that mix hands-on technique with Art history. I’m really enjoying guiding people discover their own expression in art. My approach tend to be student-focused which also shaped by my international background. For me, it is important creating a welcoming space where people feel free and inspired to explore. Whether someone’s picking up a brush for the first time or coming back to art after years, I’m there to encourage them. Let’s spend this summer growing your skills, one brushstroke at a time. See you at the studio!

Trusted teacher: “Don't play the saxophone. Let it play you.” – Charlie Parker Every person has their own musicality—we just need to let it come out. My goal as a teacher is to help you discover how much fun, joy, and passion music can bring. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced player, I will guide you in developing both your technical skills and your personal voice on the saxophone. I began my musical journey in Verona, Italy, where I graduated in Classical Saxophone in 2017. Soon after, I started teaching saxophone at the Lizard Music Academy in Garda and introducing music to children in primary and middle schools. Later, my passion for improvisation and creativity led me to continue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I specialize in Jazz and Latin music. I believe music has no age: you are never too young or too old to express yourself through an instrument. If you feel drawn to the warm, expressive sound of the saxophone, let’s begin this musical journey together. “Whatever you think can’t be done, somebody will come along and do it.” – Thelonious Monk SAXOPHONE LESSONS: To truly express your musical ideas on the saxophone, you need a strong connection between body, mind, and instrument. That’s why every lesson begins with a focus on sound and technique—developing your tone, breath control, and body awareness. You will learn how to shape your own saxophone sound and how to “sing” through the instrument. For beginners, this process may take a few weeks, but it quickly shows how musical practice can positively influence not only your playing but also your body, emotions, and creativity. To make your learning experience enjoyable and personal, my lessons are always adapted to your goals and musical interests—whether that’s reading music, improvisation, or other areas you want to explore. Together, we will also build your own personal repertoire of songs that reflect who you are. The second part of each lesson will be dedicated to working on these pieces, so that you develop not only technique but also musical expression. HOW MY LESSONS WORK In my lessons, the main focus is sound. A beautiful saxophone sound has the power to captivate an audience with just a single note. That’s why we always start by working on long tones across the full register of the instrument. The more natural and relaxed your embouchure and body are, the more easily the reed will vibrate—resulting in a warmer, personal sound. We will then explore saxophone technique, including scales, arpeggios, vibrato, tonguing, dynamics, overtones, and playing in both the low and high registers. These exercises will give you the technical foundation to express yourself freely. From there, we’ll connect technique with music: 1. Harmony & Improvisation – We’ll work directly on the songs you love. By transcribing, analyzing, and exploring harmony, you’ll learn how to improvise over chord progressions and develop your own repertoire. 2. Reading Music – An essential skill if you want to play in bands, ensembles, or orchestras. We’ll practice sight-reading and written repertoire to strengthen this ability. 3. Audition Preparation – If your goal is to enter a conservatory (classical or jazz), I have experience guiding students through auditions. We can focus on etudes, required repertoire, and exam preparation. Above all, my approach is personalized to your goals and interests. Whether you want to play your favorite songs, learn to improvise, or prepare for advanced studies, I’ll guide you step by step. I believe that music makes the mind free, and that everybody can play—it’s just a matter of practicing and listening in the right way. If you feel that the saxophone is your instrument... what are you waiting for? 🎷 Let’s make music together! FOR THE CURIOUS (and the Nerdy!): For students who want to dive deeper into the world of the saxophone, I also offer special listening sessions dedicated to the instrument’s role in music history and across different styles. We’ll explore the saxophone in classical repertoire (Gershwin, Bizet, Milhaud, Rota, Bernstein, Steve Reich, Michael Nyman...), and then follow its journey through popular music: Blues, Jazz (Stan Getz, Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Cannonball Adderley, Sonny Rollins...), Latin, Rock & Roll, Pop, and beyond—right up to today’s music. Together, we will listen to the milestones of great composers and performers who shaped the history of this fantastic instrument. It’s a journey of discovery into the beauty of music through the saxophone—one that will inspire you, expand your listening, and deepen your passion for this amazing art form.

Trusted teacher: The ability to improvise is not a natural skill that we are born with. It is an understandable chain of tools that can be learned and practiced into performance. Improvisation is something that requires discipline as much as freedom, and in fact, it stems from the understanding of sounds, the music's natural grammar. Violin is mostly seen as a melodic instrument but it can be otherwise. Outside of the classical world, rhythm reigns and the violin can be a leading rhythmical instrument too, providing solid grooves and accompaniments or challenging your fellow musicians with percussive sounds. Furthermore, to be proficient in specific styles, it is not enough to just play scales and patterns but it is necessary to learn the colors of the proper harmonical framework which is part of an idiom. In 10 years of teaching, I developed an approach that rethinks the function of fingerboard visualization allowing you to transpose in any key with great facility and to understand the logic behind the shapes of any chord on the fingerboard. In these lessons, I will help you to rethink the violin out of the box, as a powerful rhythmical and harmonical instrument while deepening your melodic ability (soloing) related to the styles you want to play: Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Brazilian, World Music. [According to the style we will also be working with loops and effects] This class is designed for musicians who already know the basics of violin techniques but addresses both beginner and advanced players in relation to the field of improvised music. The lessons will be custom made for each student. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player I will work to adapt to your learning rhythm while keeping you challenged at the same time. You will receive regular feedback, advice, and guidance and materials. Don't hesitate to contact me for more details!

Trusted teacher: Experimentation is an inherent characteristic of electronic music. Nowadays, composing music using technology creates endless creative possibilities that demand the musician/composer to adapt to numerous technical and artistic challenges. Do you like experimenting with sound and making music that does not clearly belong to a particular genre or style? Interested in bringing a fresh perspective and out-of-the-box thinking to your music production? Are you just starting out in electronic music composition and wondering how to develop your own style? This course is just what you need. In this class, you will learn: - how to transform sound using analogue and digital techniques. - how to create sound structures and organise them in a DAW enviroment to compose a piece of music. - how to record, edit and mix sounds using both conventional and experimental techniques. - how to use improvisation in both the context of live performance and composition. - about the theory and practice of free improvisation. - about the history and origins of electronic music and how it affected the music we listen today. - how to document and communicate procedures related to your artistic practice. - how to create an artistic portfolio. Aspiring musicians with a background in any genre can take advantage of this course. A formal education in music or experience with electronic music composition are not required to follow. However, you should be unafraid of experimenting with sound and music technology! Each class is customized to meet the needs of the individual student in an innovative and flexible way! The course can also serve as a preparation for applying to several Dutch educational programmes related to electronic music composition (Institute of Sonology, HKU, ArtEZ, etc.). The class is focused on small assignments that help the student develop a sense of orientation and set goals. Recording, editing, and mixing will be done via the DAW "Reaper," but we can switch to your preferred software at any time. We will use the first lesson to discuss your background, interests, and motivations in order to develop a course structure that is tailored to your needs.

We just have started to work with Yannis, but I am really happy about how we progress and feel inspired and looking forward to future lectures. Yannis teaches me to develop a vision on how to approach working with sound, while recording, processing and using it in electronic composition. I would say he is opening my mind in a way toward the analysing a character of sound as a compositional element. I like that lessons are not only just about a particular technique (and there are so many to learn from Yannis), but about developing a workflow and a mindset. Examples from historical electronic pieces to listen and analyse from legendary electroacoustic composers are really inspirational. After each lesson there is a home task and in the following lecture there is an analysis of the results and based on that Yannis gives lessons on what needs to be changed, improved, pay attention to etc, in order to develop compositional skills. I highly recommend Yannis as a teacher, if you are into modern experimental electroacoustic composition and improvisation.

Overall she is a great teacher. Since she is teaching me to play the violin, she has always been very enthusiastic. She makes you feel at ease and makes you accept that making mistakes is ok, even when you are a perfectionist. Besides, she is very flexible with the style of music you like and adjusts her teaching to your development. Even online classes (since the pandemic) go super well. I can highly recommend to take classes with her!

Our first lesson was an exploration of the feeling of holding the viola and the bow and of playing some notes pizzicato and with the bow. Maya was enthusiastic, patient and flexible in adapting to what I could and wanted to try. Her calm approach (letting learning sink in, allowing a process of getting used to the playing and learning) made me feel very comfortable and inspired!
