GCSE and A Level Economics Classes with "The Tutor"
From 28.51 € /h
You already know a lot more about economics than you might imagine. Each day, you make economic decisions, such as choosing between two teachers at Apprentus. You also come to class with years of experience in Economic matters. If you are in the UK and are 14+ years old, you might have worked part-time before and therefore supplied your labour. Supply of labour is an important concept that you might have heard of or learnt about. Do not worry if it is new to you - you may study it if you take this class. But as you may have realized, it is something related to work, so if you have worked before, you know it already.
Given students' prior experiences, I teach through examples that draw on these experiences. These examples build bridges from the familiar to the unfamiliar. Through this approach to teaching, I became one of the sought-after Economics tutors in my previous schools, where I worked with students at Key Stages 4 and 5, fostering in them a love for Economics.
I bring a well-rounded understanding of AQA AS/A level and GCSE Economics Specifications and familiarity with the following textbooks:
1. Powell, James., Powell, Ray., & Horner, David. (2023). AQA A-Level Economics (5th ed.). Hodder Education Group (AQA Approved)
2. McEachern, W. A. . (2006). Economics: a contemporary introduction (7th ed.). Thomson/South-Western.
Though the course is designed to help learners studying AQA GCSE or A Level Economics, it is appropriate for learners studying other specifications such as ORC Economics and all lovers of the subjects.

About Me
I am an MSc Behavioural Science student at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). As a natural teacher and a lifelong learner, I can grasp the bigger picture and the details, put it all together, and passionately present it to students. I am naturally interested in young people and spend much time on their education and development. I am patient, understanding, and inspiring, which endeared me to most of my students.
I have six years of experience teaching economics at GCSE/A level, translating complex economic concepts into everyday straightforward language and fostering in students a love for economics. Professional expertise in learning is displayed through engaging with scholarly articles, books and websites related to economics and psychology thus enhancing my knowledge base.
Not only do I model good behaviour to my students, but I also build a good rapport with them, inspire them to achieve their goals and aspirations and treat them with respect.
My teaching is learner-centred, and I develop myriads of learning activities, incorporate assessment into lessons and use differentiated learning to cater for individual differences. In my teaching, I present economic concepts through stories, scenarios and case studies and guide students to extract these concepts themselves. I believe that these activities encourage further exploration, intrinsic curiosity and lifelong learning.
