I am a graduate of the Royal College of Music in London, where I lived for 12 years. As well as my private lessons, I currently teach at Conservatoire of Barcelona to advanced pupils and at the British College of Gava to beginners pupils.

Individual lessons enables me to tailor and adapt my teaching to every pupil's needs; helping them to learn the repertoire or skills that each individual requires. I cover styles such as classical, pop, jazz and contemporary and I am also happy with pupils who don't necessarily want to learn how to read music (solfege).

I have prepared and entered pupils for the ABRSM and Trinity-Guildhall exams as well as for the entry exams/auditions of conservatoires and music colleges of Spain and Europe. I was also a professor in the Music faculty at Madrid's 'University Centre TAI' and at the 'Trinity Music Academy' in London. I am a member of both, the Royal Society of Arts and of the Incorporated Society of Musicians in London.

I am always friendly, fun and motivating in my lessons which creates an exciting environment. What I love about teaching is making difficult things look easy to the pupil by using all sort of strategies and motivating methods that offers productive results.

I also develop autonomous learning skills so the pupils turn out to be independent enough to play or write any music the want in the long term.

Welcome!

These flute lessons are for everyone who loves this amazing instrument! It doesn't matter your level or your motivations!

Here you will learn about all the technical aspects of the flute such as breathing-blowing, tonguing, articulation, flexibility, fingering... But I think it is also important that you can have other skills which, in my opinion, are completely necessary for a good musician. For example, we will work on your sight reading, we will analyze the pieces played so that you understand the harmony and the structure... we will work on musicality and style so that you can develop your own musical spirit. We will also work on study techniques so that you can learn the abilities that will make you completely independent. All the music styles are very welcome in this class so don’t hesitate to ask me and I will prepare an arrangement of the songs you love!

In my classes I always seek to maintain a balance between the development of basic knowledge, composition techniques and creativity. These are the three fundamental pillars that any person dedicated to composition needs.

Basic knowledge: Many are afraid of learning "too much" theory, because they believe that it can kill creativity. But what I precisely want to teach in my classes is a practical approach, where theoretical knowledge serves to further develop creativity.

Composition techniques: Each class I give small composition tasks, things that can be developed in the time you have available between classes, where we will explore different composition techniques and how they can be applied within the musical language that you want to develop.

Creativity: We work here in two ways, the first is on a project you are working on, for example a piece for your own instrument, a project for a competition or entrance exam, a song, etc. The second way is through improvisation exercises on your instrument. We will do this together, since I play violin and piano. With this we are seeing how to give space to musical intuition, to be able to capture ideas and then concretize them in a composition.

These three elements are present in each class, which is usually divided into 20-minute sections, so a lesson usually lasts 1 hour.
