About Me

I love learning. I have always had a problem with the way Math is taught in schools. Students needs are not prioritized and that leads to them not following either due to a lack of interest or overly complex concepts.

I believe that tailoring lessons to specific students helps the student to actually learn. I am an easygoing person and I love curious people. I encourage asking questions (there's no such thing as a "stupid question" in a teaching space). I employ the use of analogies heavily because this helps students relate the concepts I am teaching. Being able to "relate" is a fundamental part of most human beings and so this method resonates with most of my students.

I believe in mutual respect. I am respectful of my students and expect the same courtesy to be extended to me.

Mathematics is a core subject in the educational system. Unfortunately, many students have difficulty understanding and excelling at this subject because they do not understand the fundamental principles governing numbers. In this class, students will first learn and understand the quantity and quality of numbers, their interactions and the effect of these interactions with one another. By the end of this class, students in primary school will be comfortable with doing math sums and students in junior secondary classes will excel in algebraic expressions.

I help my students like Math by simplifying problems for them. In the course of my experience working with basic learners, I have observed that they tend to understand mathematical concepts faster when you relate them to real things they are familiar with. So my teaching style is to try as much as I can with whatever resources are available, to get my learners to relate numbers to the quantities of items around them as well as shapes and curves of items in their immediate environment.
