Trusted teacher: My name is Beryl and I am a primary school teacher, retraining to become a speech therapist. During my studies, I miss teaching: I would be delighted to help you improve your spelling, or more broadly your French (reading aloud, grammar, conjugation...)! My courses are suitable for all ages, all school levels, and all levels of mastery (from primary school to higher education, or even for adults already in the workforce - or not - wishing to progress). I have excellent spelling, which was reinforced during my teaching master's degree, during classroom teaching (teaching helps to master it even better), and during my entry into speech therapy school. I offer lexical spelling (how words are spelled) and grammatical spelling (agreements), but also reading aloud, grammar, conjugation... according to your needs. I adapt to your request: "surface" or "push," more training or explanations... We can start from a French exercise you have to do, from one of your texts written independently or from one of your texts to read, from a dictation, from a type of agreement or from a list of words that is causing you problems... or from nothing, and I will offer you a short "diagnostic" dictation or reading. I don't really have a fixed session structure because I adapt to each student. However, I always start with your request, so you'll begin the lesson. Throughout the lesson, I'll build on what you bring to the table and what you find challenging (or not). I have many tools in my teacher's bag (illustrated spelling, physical paths, mnemonic devices, word corpus, dictations, ease in creating tailor-made systematic dictations/exercises, ability to use AI to best adapt exercises, textbooks of various levels... and above all my ability to adapt to your request!). I don't hesitate to think outside the box, to move away from "classic" methods, in order to bring what seems relevant to me... and I dare to change and propose something else if I find that it doesn't work! As a primary school teacher, I know how to adapt to younger children and am familiar with the different stages of teaching and learning spelling. Through various other experiences, I also know how to provide adults with what they need, by putting myself at their level without the concepts being taught seeming childish. I hold a Master’s degree (Master 2) in Educational Sciences and have specialized in helping students with a variety of learning profiles, whether they are experiencing a temporary block or have ADHD, are gifted (HPI), or have learning difficulties such as dyslexia or other “dys” disorders. Why This Specialization? Some students learn intuitively—their curiosity and their unique way of thinking make every session stimulating. Through my experience, I’ve worked with many students who, despite strong abilities, face challenges within the traditional school system. Several factors can explain these obstacles: • Around 30% of students have an “atypical” profile (ADHD, gifted, dys disorders...). These students each have their own way of understanding new concepts. They often need hands-on experiences, repetition, reformulation, or visual aids to make sense of information. • A lack of self-confidence: No student is “non-academic.” However, repeated difficulties can lead to a loss of motivation and a feeling of failure. For example, a child struggling with reading might dread reading aloud in class for fear of stumbling over words in front of classmates. This can lead to avoidance and reinforce the difficulty. • Understanding how we learn is key: Learning to understand oneself and identify what works is an essential step—but not always easy without guidance.
