- I was born in 1982 in Brussels and started playing guitar in September 1996. I have performed extensively, including tours in a variety of bands, as a rhythm guitarist, lead guitarist, and composer. I am a teacher attentive to the needs of my students and I will take you in the direction and towards the goal you wish to achieve throughout the course. I like curious and motivated students but I will adapt to your needs and my program will be adapted to your desires. That said, it is certain that if you want to learn more and more about the guitar and its geography of chords, scales and arpeggios, with the aim of improvising and finally playing your own compositions, you have come across the right teacher.

-My way of working with each student is both personalized and multiple. 3. I obviously rely on certain methods and specialized books on the study of the guitar to deploy my course. But most of the time I rely on my experience and after two lessons we define a medium-term program for the student. Being at your service, I provide you with copies of all kinds of documentation on the guitar (books and methods of scales, arpeggios, chords. I create videos in the form of tutorials, the course can also be filmed, in addition I use some softwa. re specific to the guitar of which I provide copies to the student from the first lesson. For those who specialize in the electric guitar, I also give advice to students on the effects - amplifiers and guitars to use to sound of this or that material. A self-taught musician, I have nevertheless attended several private teachers: Désirée Duyck, Sacha Maric and Gregory Bordat. I have also taken piano and harmony lessons with a multitude of teachers. In addition, I attended the contemporary music class in Mons for two years (2006-2008).

About Pericles

Music has been one of the centerpieces of my life yet. I am a professional guitarist and singer/songwriter, born in Athens, Greece and currently residing in Utrecht, the Netherlands. In academia, I have completed Bachelor Jazz & Pop Guitar studies in HKU Utrechts Conservatorium and studied with various teachers around the world, deepening my knowledge in music. In professional life I have performed and toured with various musicians in Europe and Asia, I have taught individual students of all levels and ages, hosted group lessons and lectured seminars of modern and folk music across Europe. I feature a variety of musical styles in my repertoire as a performer with wide live and studio experience, as well as an ability to handle plenty of string instruments, including the bass, ukulele, mandolin, greek bouzouk, as well as the fundamentals in drums, piano and percussion.

My name is Francisco, I am an Argentinian guitarist currently living in Brussels. I am finishing my studies at the conservatory (KCB), but I have been playing for most of my life and teaching privately and in music academics for a few years already.
Although my main focus musically is in jazz and improvisation in general, I am also into funk, blues, rock, pop, indie and folk.

I would define my teaching style as flexible, in the sense that I believe in building a programme together with each of my students, in the which his or her specific musical interests are covered and the same time, diving into and developing the areas which I consider fundamental, regardless of the musical style or genre: rhythm and time feel, sound, technique, posture and fretboard knowledge.

Posture and comfort with the instrument are the foundation for playing the guitar. I often make the connection with other musical instruments such as percussion, wind instruments and singing.

Separating and understanding the roles of the two hands is another important step in the course. One hand plays the rhythm and the other plays the notes on the fretboard. There are many exercises to develop the knowledge and skills of both hands.

When you are writing music, it is very important that you show your music to people. Someone with experience in composition, even better. It is sometimes difficult to take that step to show your pieces that you have worked hard on. But this is a very important step, it makes you more confident in your own piece. From then on, people can receive feedback and evolve further. In my lessons, I work mainly on structure and learning to compose. If necessary, I will also work on details, but first the idea and the form have to be right. Composing is an evolution and I myself am getting better every year.

To compose better, thorough music theory is also important. Just as you can express yourself better with more vocabulary, you can write better music and translate your idea into notes better with more music knowledge. The importance of this is often underestimated. For me, music theory (all the basic knowledge but especially harmony and counterpoint) go hand in hand.

Giovanna raised and formed in Florence, where she began her guitar studies at the age of five at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole. In September, she graduated cum laude and she's currently enrolled in the Master’s program at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel, studying with Antigoni Goni.

Winner of many international competitions, she performed plenty of times in Italy and in 2023 she has held a solo concert in Milan for the XXXVIII Società Umanitaria's concerts season. Next to renowned guitarists, such as Luigi Attademo and Giorgio Albiani, she performed the world premiere of Álvaro Company’s Concert Català for ten guitars, in the revision by Vincenzo Saldarelli.

Alongside her performing activity, Giovanna has developed a strong dedication to teaching adults, children, and teenagers. She tailors each learning path to the individual student, carefully balancing personal interests with technical and artistic development, whether for amateur musicians or students preparing for conservatory admission. Her teaching approach places particular emphasis on physical awareness and well-being, guiding students toward healthy and efficient use of the body while playing. Music theory is fully integrated into her lessons and is always connected to practical application on the instrument.
