About Me
I'm Valeryia, a movement teacher who helps people of all backgrounds rediscover joy, power, and creativity through structured, meaningful movement.

🤝 Who I work best with:
People who:
- Curious and open-minded
- Looking for depth, not just training
- Honest, down-to-earth and willing to learn

You don't have to be strong or flexible to get started, as long as you're open to exploring the possibilities.
Education
I have a bachelor's degree in conference interpreting and a master's degree in Chinese Studies (international relations). This background shapes how I teach, communicate, and help others learn.

🥋 My movement education is extensive and ongoing, rooted in direct study with leading practitioners and intensive training experiences:
• 6-month intensive teacher training with Hiddenbody Movement School (2024)
• 2-month high-performance immersion with Rich Andoh (January-February 2025), focusing on running technique, energy systems, breathwork, mental resilience, and exposure training
• 2-month immersion with Rich Andoh (April - May 2025) focused on reimagining the city and the body through fear work, ground/floating locomotion, hyperfocus, and embodied awareness
• Multiple workshops with leading movement teachers, including Marcello Palozzo and Fighting Monkey Practice (2022-2025)
• Background in various dance styles, which laid the foundation for my coordination, rhythm and mobility

This combination of academic, artistic, and physical experiences shapes my unique approach: thoughtful, adaptive, and based on real-world learning.
Experience / Qualifications
Over the past three years I have been teaching movement classes in various settings:
• Community and arts spaces, as well as local municipalities
• Weekly group classes at a gym for 2+ years
• Independent movement group in Rotterdam (teaching twice a week and building a supportive community)
• Private sessions, where we offer tailor-made programs that meet each client's unique goals

One of the most impactful collaborations I've ever had was with a student exploring fear through movement. Together, we worked on exposure to height, balancing on rails, and ground acrobatics, helping them build embodied confidence and manage fear. This journey even inspired an art exhibition, demonstrating how profoundly transformative movement can be.

These experiences have shaped my flexible, inclusive, and student-centered teaching approach. This makes every session meaningful, adaptable, and supportive.
