Hey!! I am Giannis. I am a Greek jazz drummer and I study in the Royal conservatory of the Hague.
In the past, I have taught in private lessons where I try to communicate my love about music to my students as my teachers did for me.
Lessons for all levels and ages!!

For beginners:
- We work on songs that the student wants to learn and we develop the sense of rhythm and the appropriate technique to play the drums.

For intermediate level:
- We work on getting a sufficient drummer with good tempo, developed vocabulary and wide repertoire.

Hey!! My name is Giannis and I'm a 19 years old jazz drummer from the beautiful island of Crete, Greece. I started playing drums at the age of 10 and soon I fell in love with the instrument and music in general.

As a teenager, I had the amazing opportunity to travel from Crete to Athens once a month (a 9-hour ferry ride) to receive private lessons from some of the best teachers in Greece. After a year of dedicated lessons, I emerged in the Cretan jazz scene as a young and promising drummer. When I graduated high school (with an overall grade of 19/20, 6 excellence awards and 3 distinction awards) I moved to the Hague in order to study jazz drums in the Royal Conservatory of the Hague, with teachers such as Eric Ineke, Felix Schlarman and Stefan Kruger.

As a teacher I try to follow the path desired by the student, while following the methods my own teachers passed down to me, which include active music listening, sufficient exercises and mentorship.

- Teaching drums privately since 2020. During my time in Crete, I had the opportunity to work with 5 wonderful students, while in The Hague, I have the privilege of teaching 2 students. The age range of my students is from 10 to 22, and their skill levels vary from beginner to intermediate

My name is Federica and I'm an Italian drummer. I speak Italian, English, and Spanish. I graduated in Codarts, Hogeschool voor de Kunsten en Muziek in Master of Music. I am currently attending the PhD in the University of Evora (Pt) in Music and Musicology, specialization in Performance.
I have experience in teaching and I play in several bands. During the lessons, we can be focusing on more subjects and we'll learn several styles such as Jazz Latin, pop, blues, rock, and funk, adapting to your need.
The attention will be given even to the study of a snare drum, with technical and rhythmical exercises. everything steps by step.

Lesson is given on location or at home (if you have a drum kit), and your first lesson is always free, because you have to be able to determine if you like drumming and you want me as a teacher.

Drum lessons (giving) is always fun and educational. You learn in addition to technique (the correct (sitting) posture, stick control and the 'rudiments' basic patterns such as the familiar 'roffel' (double-stroke-roll) and the 'paradiddle' - also the importance of counting, dynamics, reading notes and timing After all, you will all need them if you want to continue (with a band or just for yourself).

- How long does it take before I become a drummer?
Two answers: a few hours, and a lifetime. You will see that you can play nice things in no time, but also that top drummers in the world, such as Phil Collins, Cesar Zuiderwijk, Dave Lombardo or Simon Phillips, learn new things every day (and happy).

- Am I too old to start?
You're never too old,
- Do I have a sense of rhythm?
You can learn rhythm feeling. I have NOT been able to teach anyone. - Is there a best drummer in the world?
It is about fun, and there is no podium or medal, only thousands of colleagues who are doing very well.
- Is drumming only something for men?

I have been giving lessons for the last 12 years, my main objective is to make you happy with your playing, a journey into the world of drums.

We can play any genre, be it rock, punk, hard core, jazz, pop, electronic. Let's make your own technical routine and keep it updated all the time.

Apart from teaching the most amazing latin rhythms, In my lessons I apply the stick control book, to achieve a good technique, and at the same time I teach coordination and grooves, with the best methods and books from the most qualified drummers.

I'm a professional drummer from Spain, but living in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. I have studied Latin drums at Codarts, university of the arts, in Rotterdam, so I've acquired a lot of knowledge and skills on Cuban and Brazilian music, jazz, funk and Pop.

Hello everybody! Welcome to my profile!

Have you always wanted to know more about rhythm, percussion and drums? Then you are in the right place! :)

My name is Giovanni, I'm an italian percussionist currently living in The Netherlands and studying at Codarts music school in Rotterdam.

Latin music is the field I explored and studied the most, especially music coming from Cuba and Brazil: two different and at the same time similar worlds that boast an incredible and extremely interesting music culture.
Talking about Cuban music, my main instruments are congas, bongos and timbales, together with all small percussion (guiro, maracas, clave, shekere). I will guide you through the different music styles that developed in this wonderful island during the past 200 years, such as salsa, son, rumba, cha-cha-cha, mambo, songo among many others.
About the Brazilian side, I can teach you how to learn to play the pandeiro, in all its different styles and rhythms, together with the timbau, the repique, the dobras, the surdo and many other instruments that belong to this amazing tradition.

In my musical career, I also got to play and studied other types of percussion that belong to other traditions. To name one, the cajon, originally coming from Perù and later incorporated in spanish flamenco, is another fascinating instrument, and incredibly versatile when it comes to play many styles of music, especially western pop and funk music: it can really function as a substitute for the drums!

Talking about drums, I will be happy to guide you through the study of this marvelous instrument as well, starting from the basic techniques until the study of all the rhythmic possibilities that this instrument gives.

In class we will work mostly around what the student is looking for, weather that’s just being able to jam along to their favorite tunes or to get good enough to make a living out of drumming. We can work on a variety of different genres from jazz to pop to latin, which ever the student is keen on learning about.
