Hi my name is Anne. I play the violin and the viola and I have studied at the conservatory at ArtEZ Jazz & Pop. During my studies I started to build by violin teacher practice. Apart from my private students I taught at the music school "Muziekdorp" in Wijchen and coached a band of high school students for a year. Next to teaching I play concerts with the "Metropole Academy", I have a string quartet "The Four Frogs in te Woods", and I'm playing in a Folk string duo. Students of all ages and categories are welcome in my lesson. Classical, Folk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, and free improvisation are some of the genres you can discover in our lessons. I did a Teacher Training with the American Violinist Mark O'Connor and finished this training with a diploma. His method is a very beautiful and comprehensive way to learn the variety of the violinistic possibilities. We will play a lot of music together. Starting with a correct violin posture you will develop a brought variety of techniques to find your own style. Being able to play an instrument is an enrichment for everyone! I have over 10 years experience as a violin and viola teacher and I have a master of Viola Performance and a Bachelor of Music in Violin & Viola Performance and Pedagogy. I have performed across the world, following the music to Australia, New Zealand, China, Singapore, Germany, France, Austria, and Finland. I also compose my own music for myself and my students. It is very important for me as a teacher to support my students to have freedom of self expression and a strong technical foundation on their instrument. I want my students to love music and to love their instrument. We look into music history and listen to a wide range of musical styles. In each lesson I include an improvisation or composing activity so that every student is able to have the chance to share their musical identity and to gain self confidence. In the lessons I encourage my students to analyse the music and to make their own solutions to practice: with younger children musical challenges become small games while for teenagers and adults they are musical puzzles to be solved. I have a focus on freeing the body to play the violin as naturally as possible inspired by how Feldenkrais Technique helped me as a student. I know that it is much more enjoyable to practice when one is pain free and feeling balanced and relaxed. I include a small warm up routine into our lessons and am always careful to introduce new playing techniques with a relaxed posture. Feeling nervous before any kind of public performance is normal and part of being a musician. I encourage all of my students to conquer their fear and to feel wonderful in their playing. It is so important to have a chance to play for others and to share music is a special gift. Visualising, memorising and breathing techniques are part of the confidence boosting preparations for students who would like to give performing a go.

Hello, my name is Oscar and I am a Violin and Piano teacher from the UK, now living in Bristol, after several years of living abroad. I've been teaching and performing on both instruments for 5 years, during, and after my studies at the Royal Northern College of Music. I have taught children from the age of four, up to adults in their late sixties, and I find all spectrums of age and ability rewarding and engaging to work with. Regarding Violin tuition, I am happy to teach up to any level. On the piano, I, however, currently prefer to teach up to an ABRSM grade 8 level, and not far above it. My musical endeavors, whilst focused predominantly on the Classical style in my early childhood, have become quite varied and I am a great lover of many different styles. I play regularly in Klezmer bands, Celtic Folk groups and I run a Gypsy Jazz Collective, besides performing with Orchestra's, Small string ensembles, and as a Solo Violinist. I give violin and music lessons. Combined topics or just one of them, both options are possible. I use combined learning methods, and also put special emphasis on finding each individual student way of learning. Flexible prices and schedule. All levels and ages I offer violin, ear training, and music theory lessons. These lessons can be taken individually or in combination, depending on the student's needs. I use various teaching methods, but I also try to help students develop their own study techniques, as everyone's body adapts differently to the instrument and to musical learning in every sense.
