Trusted teacher: My main teaching philosophy is to teach students to play the music they enjoy. It sounds like a no-brainer but I have had teachers in the past who only showed me songs that they enjoyed or used method books that teach you "Mary Had A Little Lamb" or "Hot Crossed Buns" (and if you like those songs then we can learn those). All that to say, whatever the student's goal on the instrument, I will take them step by step until they reach it. For a beginning musician, the fundamentals of the instrument are given the highest priority: how to tune your instrument, names of all the notes, essential chords, basic strumming, playing in time, and understanding basic rhythm. For someone who already plays but needs a little help getting out of the rut, we'll spend time fixing bad technical habits, hammering home the fundamentals, expanding their repertoire, and slowly moving outside of the comfort zone to new horizons. With advanced players, listening (ear training), transcribing, song analysis, exploring advanced theory concepts, and focusing on composition and improvisation are most important. With all levels of students, I make playlists that I update after each lesson so they can hear real examples of what we are covering, as well as provide detailed written notes in TAB and standard notation so they can refer to everything we covered and know what to practice. Also, it's fun!

I am a native Spanish speaker from Uruguay, graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in the USA, and studied communication arts for a year and a half in Thailand. While studying communication arts, I had several public speaking classes, learning techniques of how to speak better using not only our words but also our body to help us speak more naturally, calmly, and without getting nervous if we get stuck or forget what we wanted to say. During my career in the US, I was constantly writing essays for my classes, in addition to having to present projects in front of my teachers and classmates. These past years I gained invaluable experience in living abroad and communicating using my second language. Now, I help others who are looking to do the same. I help people of all around the world with their Spanish so they can meet their goals. It could be studying abroad, going to live in a Spanish-speaking country, improving your communication in the professional field, or keep practicing so as not to lose your previously acquired level. I highly recommend Andrej as a cello teacher. He has excellent training from the Central Music School of the Moscow Conservatory and is currently gaining experience with the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden. Andrej is patient, knowledgeable, and makes learning enjoyable for students of all levels, from beginners to advanced. I’ve really enjoyed my lessons with him! He teaches in Russian, German, or English, which makes lessons accessible to many students. 10/10!
