Mathematics has always been one of my strongest subjects and a major part of my academic background. I achieved A*s in both Mathematics and Further Mathematics at A-Level and have a strong background in mathematical problem-solving and competitions. My achievements include medals in Mathematics Olympiad competitions in Iran, a Distinction in BMO1 (British Mathematical Olympiad Round 1) and a Gold Award in the Senior Mathematical Challenge. I teach Mathematics from KS3 through GCSE, A-Level, IB, Foundation and university level. I can support students with both standard curriculum mathematics and more challenging problem-solving and Olympiad-style questions, depending on their level and goals. I have been tutoring since high school and particularly enjoy breaking difficult mathematical ideas into clear, manageable steps. Rather than simply teaching students to memorise methods, I focus on developing their mathematical intuition and showing them how to approach unfamiliar problems independently. Lessons can be 60, 90 or 120 minutes and are tailored to each student. We can focus on strengthening fundamentals, schoolwork, exam preparation, past papers, advanced topics or competition mathematics. I generally structure my lessons in the format of long tones, scales, sight-reading, etude and pieces. Depending on the student's ability and goals when it comes to playing the oboe, I may vary my lesson structure slightly in order to suit each individual student's needs best. Long tones and scales are the two things I still do every single day to this day, even after many years of playing the oboe professionally. They are the fundamental building blocks of tone, support and breathing and therefore need to be practiced regularly. This is why I always start my lessons with these, regardless of the student's level of playing. Sight-reading is a very useful tool to acquire, especially if you would like to play in ensembles. And as for etudes and pieces, I believe that technique and musicality go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other in order to play music to a high level. Therefore I encourage all my students to practice both.

My love for music carried me through a children's music school, a music college and an academy. From personal experience, I understand the emotions and difficulties children can go through while learning to play the violin. I believe that everyone can play the violin and do it quite well.
