As an experienced professional artist, producer and educator with a Bachelors Degree in Popular Music Performance (specialism in vocals) from Leeds Conservatoire and robust academic and professional experience within the industry, I have worked with artists and musicians to produce professional quality music in a range of different styles.

I am both a professionally trained singer and rapper, with my degree specialising in vocal performance and so I have a wealth of experience within this field. During our personalised one to one sessions, we will work on identifying your key skills and weaknesses and equipping you with the right tools to overcome your challenges. I will also equip you with the right knowledge in order to go out and build a successful career in the music industry. Hi, I'm Kemar! I am an enthusiastic and creative musician/educator who is always looking for interesting and innovative ways to both compose and teach music. I have experience delivering music workshops to both first year undergraduate students and GCSE students, and have taught both KS3 and GCSE music in a secondary school. As an active musician I have 10 years of performance experience and have spent 3 years working within the music industry.

I am a firm believer that music education should be accessible to all as music helps us to develop our creative and emotional intelligence. I believe that music is essential to the success and progression of pupils and so I take pride in delivering high quality music education and I am extremely passionate about helping people reach their full creative potential.

In the singing lesson we look at breathing, vocal technique, language, expression and interpretation. I take much pleasure in watching a student grow and facilitating their development and helping them on their own path. The most important thing to me is that they enjoy using their voice and telling a story through music.

I have recently graduated from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with a Master of Music degree with distinction. Through the developing of my private practice, I am becoming increasingly interested and deeply passionate about teaching singing and singing pedagogy. For me, music – and especially singing – is all about communication, between performer and audience, between composer and performer/audience, between teacher and student; it is about conveying a story and human emotions that people can relate to and that give us a sense of connection and belonging. Singing Ethos:
My belief is that everyone can learn to sing when taught properly and holistically and can experience the joy of discovering the unique qualities of their individual voice. This is a joy which I share with my students and why I find teaching so rewarding. My experience is predominantly (but not exclusively) with children and I love to watch as their love for their voice grows.

What you can expect:
I believe it is important to teach with an emphasis on technique and vocal health, so from the first few lessons students learn about the body and the way the voice works. I address this through exercises and breathing techniques as well as songs appropriate to age and stage; (usually based around the appropriate ABRSM Grades). I strive to create a fun, nurturing environment where learning and confidence can be optimised.
I currently study with Sophie Grimmer, a highly respected and accomplished vocal teacher based in London who has performed at venues across Europe and London such as ENO. Therefore everything I teach my own students is informed by the world class tuition I am lucky enough to receive, (but of course adjusted so that it is age appropriate). This ensures that the tuition I give is always current and reflects the ever evolving industry standards for vocal tuition.

One of the best things about singing is that you don't have to be good at it to reap the rewards.
Regular piano playing offers different physical and physiological advantages to players. It sharpens fine motor skills, improves dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Logic Pro is a powerful digital audio workstation (DAW) widely used for music production, recording, and sound design. In this introductory lesson, we will cover the basics of setting up a project, navigating the interface, and creating simple tracks.
