Trusted teacher: 🧪 IB Chemistry Apprentice Lesson Plan Topic: The Electromagnetic Spectrum Level: IB Year 1 (Apprentice) Duration: 60 minutes Lesson Objectives By the end of this lesson, students should be able to: ‣ Describe the electromagnetic spectrum and identify its different regions. ‣ Understand and apply the equation c = fλ. ‣ Differentiate between a continuous spectrum and a line spectrum. ‣ Explain the concept of quantized energy in atoms. Lesson Outline Introduction (0–5 minutes) Start the lesson by asking students a few engaging questions: What are some examples of invisible light or radiation around us? Why do we wear sunscreen? Allow brief responses, then explain that all of these examples are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which we will study today. Teaching Phase 1 – Overview of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (5–15 minutes) Introduce the electromagnetic spectrum. Explain that it is a range of all electromagnetic waves, which vary by frequency and wavelength. Emphasize that all electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed in a vacuum – the speed of light, c = 3.00 × 108 m/s. Key formula to introduce: c = fλ, where: c = speed of light f = frequency (Hz) λ = wavelength (m) Point out that high-frequency waves have short wavelengths and higher energy (like gamma rays), while low-frequency waves have long wavelengths and lower energy (like radio waves). Display a spectrum diagram showing the range from radio to gamma rays, with visible light in the center. Teaching Phase 2 – Spectrum Types: Continuous vs. Line Spectrum (15–25 minutes) Explain the difference between continuous and line spectra. A continuous spectrum** contains all wavelengths in a range, like a rainbow produced when white light passes through a prism. A line spectrum** shows only specific wavelengths or frequencies. This happens when excited electrons fall back to lower energy levels and release photons of specific energies. Explain that energy is **quantized**—electrons cannot have just any amount of energy; only specific values are allowed. Use the helium line spectrum image as an example. Real-World Examples and Class Discussion (35–45 minutes) Give students three practical examples and discuss their uses: 1. Microwaves – Used in cooking and communications. 2. Ultraviolet (UV) rays – Cause sunburn; used in sterilizing equipment. 3. Gamma rays– Used in cancer treatment and in detecting radioactive materials. Ask students: Where do you see or use electromagnetic waves in your daily life? Encourage short contributions to reinforce understanding. Student Exercises (45–55 minutes) Have students complete these three questions individually: 1. A wave has a frequency of 6.0 × 1014 Hz. Calculate its wavelength using c = 3.00 × 108 m/s. 2. Explain the difference between a continuous and line spectrum, with an example of each. 3. Why are gamma rays more dangerous to humans than radio waves? Wrap-Up and Recap (55–60 minutes) Call on a few students to briefly summarize one key thing they learned.

Trusted teacher: Born following behavioral observation, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) designates a whole set of techniques (dissociation, reframing, etc.) and methods aimed at promoting the personal development of the individual. Neuro-linguistic programming is concerned with how humans function in a given environment, based on their behavioral patterns. Through a set of techniques and methods, NLP helps to change the way an individual perceives his environment. Indeed, each individual has a map of the world which is specific to him, and which is modulated by his beliefs and his conditioning. The purpose of NLP is to modify this map in order to enable the individual to achieve their goals more effectively. NLP therefore provides the necessary tools to make personal and structural changes, in order to create new potential for success. Neuro-linguistic programming is primarily concerned with "How to make it work well?" Rather than "Why is this not working?" ". It suggests recognizing the behaviors we adopt when communicating, and then making changes if desired. - “Programming” refers to the fact that we are conditioned by our environment which includes a system of beliefs and behaviors. - “Neuro” means that these programs are encoded in our neural circuits. - “Linguistics” refers to language, whether verbal or non-verbal. Examples of benefits of Neurolinguistic Programming: -Improvement of the mother-child relationship -Improved performance and decreased anxiety -Improvement of psychological difficulties and quality of life (..) The objective of this training: to target the tools which will support your communication, your image, will help you to decipher your interlocutor (...) to better achieve your objectives. Thus, after having exchanged with you about the essential blockages that you encounter, targeted areas for improvement, your objectives (...), pragmatic tools, techniques & methods will be put in place based on the initial data. Combined with these theoretical elements, their implementation will follow (for example, by filmed simulations or at the end of the session in real life). Course of a session: in conversational form, the practitioner identifies the problem and determines the objective with the client by asking a set of questions. He directs his questions towards solutions rather than the story that generated the situation. Then according to his practice, the practitioner uses the tools at his disposal in order to remove blockages and promote behavioral change, while deciphering the communication of the other as well as his own, thanks to specific NLP tools. THE PRACTITIONER Trained at the Grande Ecole post-preparatory classes & Ivy League University in the United States, our consultant teacher trainer has specialized and worked for more than 17 years, in Europe and North America, in the field, in renowned international public and private establishments, regularly speaking in forums and conferences, and also offering personalized INDIVIDUAL support, with pedagogy and meticulous methodology as the watchwords. ➤ PLACE, TIMETABLE, PRICES ✓ Locations: Geneva-Lausanne-Fribourg-Zurich-Neuchâtel-Lugano-Montreux-Basel-Neuchâtel-Bern-Lucerne-Brussels-Luxembourg-Paris-Lyon. Trusted teacher: Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Trusted teacher: "I still remember the first time I heard the sound of a harp. I was 8 years old, my grandparents took me to a concert in the small church of Gosselies. When the harpist began to pluck the strings, I was kidnapped by the magical sound that emanated from the wooden heart. The longer the concert went on, the closer I got to the harp... After pestering my parents for a year, I began to study this magnificent instrument. It immediately became a sacred object for me. Thanks to it, I could communicate my feelings, laugh, relax and find the balance I was looking for." My courses are based on the Irish teaching method so first of all to the ear, on the resources that the student has in himself and on the fact that one learns while having fun. I propose a harp lesson: - Medieval dedicated to teenagers and adults for false beginner and intermediate based on medieval music and rebirth, improvisation, arrangement of melodies, ... - Celtic for all ages from 14 to 70 years, beginner level, false beginner, intermediate and intermediate / advanced based on Celtic repertoire and Irish, Scottish and Breton techniques After a few lessons, the neo-harpists will play short and simple melodies until the end of the journey to play more complete melodies that provide accompaniment and use of both hands. Lessons are defined on the learning needs of individual students. Even if I use the Irish teaching method, I will provide the basis for reading the pentagram, for the integration of rhythm, the foundations of harmony so that the student can read a piece of music independently. I live in Italy, so I come back to Belgium about once a month for face-to-face lessons (duration of face-to-face lesson: 90 minutes). Next dates for face-to-face courses in Belgium: December 23 and 28, 2024 For googlemeet courses (3-4x per month, lesson duration 60 minutes) see typical week. Do not hesitate to write to me.

Trusted teacher: Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I give AMV (General Musical Education) Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the college who are going to study music professionally, the subject 'music theory' is included in the curriculum. In case of shortcomings in music theory, the specific needs are updated. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. I can guide students in music as a hobby, as well as in music professionally.

My daughter had her first lesson and she is very happy with Nouhaila. Excellent teacher. From the first moment a pleasant contact and clear answers to all my questions. Nouhaila thinks along well about the objectives to be achieved taking into account the age of my daughter. (16). A warm person. My daughter is enthusiastic and really enjoyed the first lesson. Serious (to use the hour well and completely) with an occasional joke. It is also nice that the lessons can continue during the summer holidays. I have been learning with Anne for almost 8 months now. I cannot even begin to thank Anne for her amazing teaching skills and how much she has helped me. I have struggled with French for years and I finally found a teacher who both pushed me but is also patient and accommodating to my needs. I was also hesitant at first to have an online teacher, but her teaching methods and skills actually made it easier that she was online, also in terms of managing my time and schedule with her, I did not feel that anything hindered my progress having her online. Her great personality and experience as a teacher overall further helped with my fear and difficulty in learning French, and having her as an online teacher. And finally, she has a great teaching structure and a curriculum and material (which was important for me) to provide for the student through structured classes, while taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the student. Thank you very much Anne for everything.

As i am just about to start harp lessons, we had a first ''lesson' in which Mélanie advised me extensively about the types of harps that I should consider getting/renting,and explained her pedagogy and the type of music she specializes in, which is exactly what I would like to take up. She explained some aspects of the repertoire (such as the fact that for older music we often have only a melody line surviving, so the accompaniment involves improvisation). She is extremely friendly and helpful, organized and clearly at home with teaching online, which she had been doing in part before the lockdown. I look forward to having the first 'real' lesson once I have a harp to play on.
