Learn to play piano (Jazz, Blues, Pop, Classical) in a fun, therapeutic environment. I am a Piano Teacher from Ireland. I am classically trained (The Royal Irish Academy of Music) and also in Jazz Improvisation (Waltons School of Music Dublin). I am a Contemporary Dancer who is currently training in Somatic Practice. This has opened up a new world for my piano practice. I believe that body awareness and mind to body connection has a huge impact in one's creative expression. I involve the Alexander Technique, relaxation exercises and improvisational games in my classes to create a productive and calm leaning environment. I teach technical exercises, scales, singing, sight reading, composition and most important - songs of your choice that you would love to play.

If I should describe my piano lessons I would say that they are very playful! The talking and theory is secondary, most important is to play and then see how to listen and adapt from there. My students have fun, they enjoy our lessons, otherwise they don't practise and make progress :) It is important that our lesson is making you more independant and secure to play and understand music on your own! I have teaching experiences since fourteen years, I studied music education, piano, harpsichord which I will use for your understanding. This year I will only focus on teaching people over 12 years old. If you live 15minutes by bike from me, there is the possibility to come to your home. Otherwise I will be teaching in Universität der Künste or at my home. I wish you all the best in finding the right teacher. Hope to hear you soon ! Best wish, Simone

Throughout the years I have developed piano skills with which I can play all sorts of compositions by ear as well as improvise variations based on the main structure of a piece. In this course I will show you the practical and theoretical basics to improvise as well as learn pieces on the piano without note sheets. It will not be a "classical music lesson" although I will reference classical music and talk about music theory, music history and the physics of sound a lot. It won't have a "syllabus" either on the basis that every person needs different sets of skills to improve upon. It will be more of a discussion/dialogue accompanying the piano where we will expand on our ideas about music. What You'll Learn: -How to play Melodies, Chords, Songs. -Different Chord Shapes, Intervals, Scales etc. -Basic to Intermediate Music Theory: -Pitch -Modes -Harmony vs. Melody -Consonance vs. Dissonance -Chords & Chord Progressions -Rhythm & Meter -Timbre: Dynamics & Articulation I don't have any demonstration material up on this page so you can write to me if you want to meet up where I can demonstrate you my piano skills.

I offer piano lessons that focus on the joy of music, learning the right technique and a psychologically constructive experience. I prefer to create an individual program for the student according to his wishes and goals. Overall, I aim to create a positive and calm environment for my students while teaching this complex and beautiful instrument. I also offer lessons in music theory: preparation for music schools, general knowledge and understanding of music theory, or a deeper understanding of it - if the student wishes to go further. Music theory can consist of harmony, counterpoint, analysis of desired works, chords, intervals, ear training... For those interested, I also offer the electronic tool Logic Pro, as I have been composing electronic music using this program for the last 5 years of my training. We can combine this aspect with music composition or focus on technical elements. My goal is to create a considerate and respectful space where making music becomes a happy experience. I like to teach in German, English and Turkish.
