Trusted teacher: (Eng version below) (Version française ci-dessous) When people ask me how long I've been playing piano, I can't give an exact number anymore. I would guess that I've been playing for about 13 to 14 years, with four years of music theory and classical piano as a basis. In addition, I've had private lessons. During the COVID period my passion really started to grow, and after high school I decided to study jazz piano at the Luca School of Arts. I have been teaching for about 2 years now and I really enjoy it. I can also teach different styles, from classical to pop and jazz. In addition to piano lessons, I also offer music theory and ear training. As a teacher, I am ready to adapt completely to your wishes. (French) Quand on me demande depuis combien de temps je joue du piano, je ne peux plus donner de chiffre exact. You will be in your environment for 13 to 14 years, with the musical theory and piano classics comme base. And plus the cela, j'ai pris des cours privates. During the COVID-19 period, my passion for commencing my studies, and after completing my secondary diploma, I decided to study piano jazz at the Luca School of Arts. Your environment is 2 and maintenant, and your aim is yours. You also have different styles, du classique à la pop en passant par le jazz. And in addition to the course of the piano, it is necessary to develop the course of the musical theory and the 'ear training'. And besides, you are ready to complete your adapter with your own accessories.

Trusted teacher: Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I had previously played some classical for a few years, but was looking to learn jazz piano and improvisation as well. For this David is ideal, as he studied both as a classical and jazz musician, and has a deep understanding of each. About half the lessons we focus on jazz improvisation. During the lessons I improvise over a few songs, and each session he gives feedback, while adding a new layer of difficulty. We've also worked a lot on rhythm, which has really helped me bridge the gap between classical and jazz. We spent a few lessons on classical pieces as well, to refine technique and musicality. My playing feels much more fluid and musical already, and he's really helpful/knowledgeable with the details. Also, on the weeks where I did have not had much time to practice, we do a more (jazz) theory oriented lesson, which has also helped alot with my improvisation. Overall, I only have positive things to say about the lessons! David is a very easy-going teacher, and from the first lesson I felt very comfortable asking him questions. He's very versatile as well, and easily adapts the lesson according to what suits us best that week.

I started acoustic guitar lessons from zero and I have learned so much with Sergio, he is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and patient, he also encourage you to keep practicing to achieve your goals while providing you with very useful material to do it. I really recommend Sergio as a music teacher, he plays a lot of instruments. Excelente profesor, yo empecé clases de guitarra acústica desde cero y he aprendido mucho con Sergio, sabe mucho y es muy paciente, además te anima a seguir practicando para que alcances tus metas y te provee muy buen material para lograrlo. Diana

We didn't complete many lectures yet, but Apprentus frequently asks me to review Diana; so here is my review. In my opinion, she is highly professional. She keeps a good pace with my learning speed; she sets the workload well that will keep me improving but not overloaded. Moreover, the content of her lectures are well balanced; we do not only practice on violin, but also cover theoretical stuff with pen and paper. She is also open to receive questions even out of course hours. I have never contacted her like this yet, but it is comforting to know that I can consult with her on something.
