The content of the lessons is adapted to the needs and wishes of each student. It is possible to follow a combination of music theory and instrument, or only focus on one aspect. Depending on the student's goal, the level, teaching method and music styles are adjusted and personalized in consultation. As a teacher I am familiar with different styles, from classical music (baroque, impressionism, classicism, romanticism and contemporary music), to folk music, jazz standards, pop songs or minimalist music. Ruben Plazier is an international concert pianist who has performed in venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Flagey in Brussels, and the Rudolfinum in Prague. He earned his Diplôme Supérieur d'Enseignement, Diplôme Supérieur d'Exécution, and Artist Diploma from the École Normale de Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, where he studied with Jean-Bernard Pommier. In addition to his work as a performing musician, he is a classical programmer at De Doelen Concertgebouw in Rotterdam and teaches pianists preparing for competitions and admissions to top conservatories. We'll bring out the best in you. With concrete exercises, you'll gradually understand how to study effectively at home.

I have been learning the violin and piano since 5 years old, and am currently taking a bachelor's in Music Performance in Violin, at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. Students of any age are welcome, and I have special experience with beginner and younger students, having given a lot of lessons in piano and music theory. I teach in English, Portuguese, Spanish, and basic Dutch. The individual piano lessons are personalized and tailored to the progress and learning ability of each student. Emphasis is placed on developing good posture and ease of movement at the early stage. We will then continue to revise and enhance technique while taking on a more challenging repertoire as they progress.
