Piano for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Striking a Balance between Technical and Fun.

Piano for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Striking a Balance between Technical and Fun.

Hey! My name is Seán, and I am an Irish singer-songwriter based in London with 2 years of teaching experience. I teach a range of disciplines, including piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting, and music theory. Having taught students of all ages and different levels of musicianship, I am pleased to say that I have built long-lasting relationships with many of my students. With an emphasis on creativity and student input; my lessons allow students to discover their own playing style and musical direction. I strongly believe that people learn best when they enjoy what they’re doing, and I incorporate this into my teaching style. I strongly encourage my students to bring their own ideas and suggestions to the lessons; that way they can learn a piece of music that they really like. With a background in classical music, I underpin my lessons with useful technical exercises that encourage dexterity, time-keeping and fluency. Finally, I encourage all my students to learn at least the fundamentals of music theory and sight reading. Striking a healthy balance between diligent exercises, music theory and fun musical expression, my lessons allow students to explore their musicality on all fronts. Whether you’re a complete beginner, or you’re building upon your existing skills, I am here to help you reach your musical goals. Lessons are available immediately, looking forward to hearing from you! Qualifications: - Grade 8 Classical Piano - Royal Irish Academy of Music - Piano, Vocal, and Guitar Training - MA in Music Production, LCCM - Decade of Songwriting Experience - Frontman for Seán and the Late Bloomers

Sing with Sarah - Voice/Piano/Music Theory tuition

Sing with Sarah - Voice/Piano/Music Theory tuition

Hi, I’m Sarah! I am both an Opera Singer and a classroom Music Teacher. My love for teaching and singing have always lived side by side. I constantly seek any opportunity to share my passion, whether that be in front of an audience or a classroom of students. I have always loved expressing myself through music, regardless of the genre. In fact, in a past life, I really wanted to be a country singer. My philosophy as a teacher is to have student specific teaching styles that are all about helping YOU achieve the goals that you want to achieve! Whether it be your high school/university recital, auditions, or preparing for a gig, our lessons will be tailor-made to you. My job is to give you the confidence to enjoy your voice. I am an Operatic Soprano yet I have sung across many genres for many years. Once you have a good technique you will be able to sing in whatever style you choose! My operatic technique allows me to sing over a full orchestra without a microphone, and without causing vocal damage. In our lessons, I will be able to share with you these tools to healthy singing that enhances your natural tone. You will learn microphone technique, as well as performance techniques that will help you to better convey a character to an audience. I may also help with character development, songwriting, music theory and piano. For any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Get In Touch

Dutch lessons by a very experienced language teacher

Dutch lessons by a very experienced language teacher

Dutch lessons for all levels. I am a very experienced teacher with many years of teaching. I am a Dutch teacher at the Regenboogschool in London - the biggest Dutch primary school in the UK, and teach the advanced students (13-18yrs). Furthermore, I also teach Dutch adults at the International House London and have taught adults at Cactus Languages for nearly 20yrs. I have taught hundreds of people over the years, so if you are just starting your journey or you are an advanced student that wants to practice the Dutch language, I can certainly help you. Need some Dutch for your work colleagues in Holland? Going to live in Holland and need your NT2? Want to speak more Dutch to your in-laws? Are your kids learning Dutch faster than you, and they're only just 2yrs old? Need help with your Dutch wedding speech? Want to order a "biertje" in a Dutch pub? Are you a lover of Dutch art? Finally, want to learn another language, and you think Dutch is fun? I can help! I am also a very experienced Dutch voice actor in London and have even voiced a Dutch Language course (available on Amazon). And hey, I have learned six different languages myself, so I very well know what it is like to learn another language. I only teach in person and not online, because I find this is the fastest way to learn a language. I am located in NW London, we can meet anywhere in central London. DBS checked.

Tuition in Violin/Viola Performance, Musicianship, Music Theory, and Music History

Tuition in Violin/Viola Performance, Musicianship, Music Theory, and Music History

Approach to Teaching – I favour a structured approach. I devise lesson plans in advance of every lesson, catered to the student's specific needs. – Violin lessons tend to be carefully planned to focus on specific technical aspects of performance. To train musicality, I often teach this through the use of Kreutzer and Fiorillo etudes, Dont studies, and also pieces of repertoire catered to the student's musical interests and technical requirements. – I am open to considering student repertoire suggestions if they are particularly passionate about a certain piece. Lesson Structure – Typically violin lessons range in length from 30 minutes to an hour, but I am flexible: I am more than happy to devise a lesson structure that caters for a student's requirements. Credentials – I am a Musicology PhD candidate at the University of Cambridge. – I have worked as a private violin teacher for 7 years (since I was 17). I have taught a variety of students, from beginners starting their instrumental training, to more advanced performers looking to improve their technical facility and performance skills. – I have performed at West Road Concert Hall (University of Cambridge), The Lee Tseng Hall (Wolfson College Cambridge), Buxton International Festival, Manchester International Festival, and The Bridgewater Hall. – I have an extensive portfolio of performing credits on documentary films; recent highlights include the docuseries on Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein 'House of Maxwell' (BBC2, 2022), and 'Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In' (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021). Performance Credits: Soundtrack: House of Maxwell (BBC2) (2022) *Score nominated for BAFTA award Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In (Netflix) (Passion Pictures / Universal Pictures) (2021) The Schnoz (Premiered at the Jewish Film Festival 2020) The Chillenden Murders (BBC2) (2017) The Five Wives & Lives Of Melvyn Pfferberg (2016) Conviction: Murder At the Station (BBC2) (2016) Charlie Hebdo: 3 Days That Shook Paris (Channel 4) (2015) Being AP (BBC + Toronto Film Festival) (2015) The Battle for Marjah (HBO) (2012) Popular Music Releases: Grasscut – Human Estuary / The Garden / Witley Common (2021) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – Coprolite Tip / Courage Traveller / Edges Of Night (2021) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – September's Night Sky (2015) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – Beacon (2014) (Lo Recordings) Grasscut – Pieces (2012) (Ninja Tune) Essa Weira – Glimpse (2020) Jaga Jazzist – Toccata (Grasscut remix) (2010) (Ninja Tune xx Vol. 2) (Ninja Tune) – I hold an MPhil(Cantab) in Music from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Historical Musicology and Aesthetics. – I led the University of Cambridge Experimental Music Ensemble (CUEME) during my MPhil year – I have a first-class music degree (74.4%) from the University of Manchester, where I won three Hargreaves Prizes for Academic Achievement. – I achieved a distinction (92%) in my ATCL Diploma in violin performance, and a First (78%) in my final violin recital for my undergraduate degree. – I have worked as an Assistant Music Teacher, which involved teaching to A-Level Music students. RCA Graduate tutoring in Art & DesignFrom younger ages to portfolio support for art school.

RCA Graduate tutoring in Art & DesignFrom younger ages to portfolio support for art school.

I am an RCA MA Painting graduate, and I have a BA(Hons) degree in Fine Art from Westminster University, and a Foundation diploma in Art & Design from the University for the Creative Arts. I am a practicing artist based in London, specializing in painting, and I have been showing my work nationally and internationally. My recent solo show was at Class Reiss London, and I also had a solo presentation at Art Athina. My fascination with tutoring derives from my sensitivity around learning disabilities, something which is a recurring theme in my practice as I grew up as a dyslexic learner, as well as my educational experience of being part of leading academic UK institutions. Through my work as an art tutor I strive to inspire and support my students, offering insight to my experience as a RCA alumnus and to the professional life of an artist. I teach students of all ages, as I strongly believe that involvement with the arts is always eye opening and revealing, especially when this leads to a career in the arts through higher education. I can offer art lessons for younger children, involving introduction to creative techniques and idea development, mentoring and support with portfolio preparation to apply for art schools internationally  as well as tutoring on contextualizing your work through constructive and generative feedback.

“ My first lesson with Daniel was just what I wanted and more. Daniel made me feel very comfortable and let me play some music I had been working on. Then Daniel looked at all aspects of my playing in a thorough manner and signposted plans for future lessons. I was really wanting my technique to be reviewed thoroughly and Daniel did exactly this, in a very supportive and encouraging manner. It was incredible to hear the change to my playing Daniel helped me make within the hour. Looking forward to the next lesson! Many thanks! ”

“ Paul was very friendly and professional. He is a great musician and my son really enjoyed his first session with him and I'm sure he will enjoy the subsequent sessions we have already booked. ”
