Ciao! My name is Chiara and I am from Italy. I am currently doing an MA in Japanese studies at Leiden University.
I can give Italian lessons to whoever would like to improve his skills (conversation, grammar, writing...) or for those who would like to start to learn this amazing language!
I can also help current Bachelor students in Japanese with their studies. I have a N2 level and I have been in Japan for 8 months. I can help you with conversation, kanji, grammar or whatever you may need!

From absolute beginners to fluent conversation in Italian!
A fascinating mix of language, culture, cuisine and current affairs from Italy – with a dash of necessary grammar!

For over 30 years I have been passionately teaching individual and group lessons to people of all levels. I am Gianni, a born and raised Florentine who has been living in Delft for quite some time. Florence, the birthplace of the Italian language, is also the city of Dante Alighieri, the founder of modern Italian. No, we are not related 😉, but just as Haarlem in the Netherlands is known for its ABN pronunciation, Florentine Italian is considered the standard language. I proudly convey this authentic Italian in my lessons.

Professional experience
I am currently a teacher of Italian at the Volksuniversiteit Delft, after having previously taught for four years at the Volksuniversiteit Rotterdam. In addition to my work as a teacher, I am also a professional singer of traditional Italian folk songs. I like to integrate this passion into my lessons, because music is a powerful tool for learning a language. Well-known lyrics and melodies not only make the learning process more fun, but also more effective. I often accompany my singing with guitar, which creates an authentic Italian atmosphere.

Teaching method
For beginners, I use an accessible textbook that explains the basics of Italian step by step. During the lessons, I immediately correct mistakes in sentences or pronunciation, so that you gain more confidence in speaking. My approach is practical and interactive: every mistake is an opportunity to learn something new, whether it is a word, a grammatical rule, an anecdote or a cultural context.

In addition, we pay attention to Tuscan cuisine and culture, so that you not only learn the language, but also experience the rich Italian lifestyle. For advanced I work with more advanced texts, current topics and conversations, so that you continue to develop your language skills.

Durante le zioni, correggo subito frasi e parole errate, aiutandoti a migliorare la tua pronuncia and ea parlare con più sicurezza. By the way, all the steps are taken, using an organic method based on the principle principles, integrating elements in order to render the natural apprendiment and follow-up.
This is an error and one of the stories is one of the most important ones.

Oltre a essere insegnante, sono anche cantante di musica popolare italiana. Credo che imparare un lingua attraverso le melody ei testi delle canzoni tradizionali sia un modo efficace e piacevole per memorizzare nuove parole ed espressioni. Con me puoi anche cantare en italiano, accompagnati dalla mia chitarra!

This class is to ve fluent in the everyday use of Italian. This class will be helpful for both who are personally driven to the culture and language and who need to use it on a daily basis in their working/studying environment. The class can be adapted to the student's needs.
Even though not fluent, I have spent half of my life in Italy, or academically involved with Italian culture and language. Therefore this class can be beneficial for those who would like to advance their knowledge.
There will be a particular emphasis on the cultural aspect of the language that will be given in the teaching approach, both to familiarize the learner to the particular culture and to get deeper knowledge on the grammar and pronunciation.

I'm Antoine, a MSc graduate in Applied Mathematics at TU Delft.

During all of my studies, I have tutored high-schoolers and bachelor students in Mathematics, French and Italian.

Now that I have settled in this new country I would like to start tutoring again. So if you are having a hard time in Mathematics (or in one of those languages) at any level, I will be more than happy to give you all the help you need!
