I followed the bachelor's degree of Special Needs Education in the Open University of Sri Lanka. There I learned about educational technology for special needs students, the values of primary education, child rights and educational management. I also possess knowledge on how to adapt my school curriculum in an inclusive classroom. I also did many teaching practice sessions to develop my own teaching methodologies. I attained the DETE at the University of Colombo. Here I was educated on more advanced English reading, writing, speech, listening and literature concepts. I followed CPTE at the Institute of Western Music and Speech, in which I further sharpened my language skills. I also followed AMI at the Good Shepherd Maria Montessori Center, Sri Lanka, where I gained the practice and principles of the Montessori method for children.
I was a primary teacher in Colombo International school-Srilanka(CIS), in Good Shepherd Montessori House of children(as an AMI Montessori Teacher), and also Sunflower International Primary School as a Montessori Teacher.
Teaching is a very demanding profession, and as per my experience, I see my students succeed and gain positive results regularly. It is no secret that I'm greatly driven by their hard work and achievements. Sometimes I have come across children who are uninterested and very distracted in a learning environment but I as an educator use versatile educational strategies to encourage the hidden talents of students.

As a passionate and versatile primary school teacher with an impactful 13-year journey in education, I wholeheartedly believe in the potential and innate talents of every child. My adventure began in Sri Lanka and led me to the Netherlands in 2018, where I've continued my mission of finding innovative ways to work with children. To live and reside in the Netherlands a certain level of Dutch is not only handy but also necessary if you want to have a job. As part of the process to become a Dutch national, you need a basic level of Dutch, being A1 to B2.

I am a certified Dutch teacher with 6 years of teaching experience. Besides teaching Dutch to Dutch high -school pupils in the years 1- 4 mavo/ havo/ vwo, I also have extensive experience teaching Dutch to expats/ foreigners.
I am therefore familiar with the “inburgeringsexamen” and the NT2 curriculum (Dutch for foreigners) for those who want to reside in the Netherlands.

Sinds 2012 geef ik Spaanse lessen aan volwassenen en studenten. Ook aan kinderen.

I have been a French tutor for more than 2 years to students with all levels. I adapt to my student(s) objectives and personalize my lessons to their goals and interests. For example, I have had students take lessons because they want to visit a French speaking country, want to study for exams or to make their conversations sound more like a native speaker. Prior to each lesson, I prepare documents and exercises. I can teach grammar, vocabulary and reading but I mainly focus on conversational skills by making my classes interactive. My goal is that you learn French from a native and not from a classroom!

I teach Spanish to both children and adults.
This can be in groups or individually, both in person and online.

I offer personalized lessons, tailored to the needs and goals of each student.
The teaching method is based on conversations, activities and resources that are adapted to the level, needs and learning style of each student. The aim is for a student to be able to communicate in Spanish themselves.

To become a Spanish teacher, I completed the Spanish Teacher training at Instituto Cervantes in Utrecht.
These are both module A and module B. I have enjoyed teaching Spanish for years.
