Music Lessons for Trumpet/Piano/Music Production and Jazz harmony
Trusted teacher:
My name is Lyle, and I teach Trumpet, Piano, and also more general composition and music production. I specialise in contemporary styles (anything from the last 100 years), and have found many of my students typically are: - Young children, who's parents are looking for a teacher who is more interested in flexibility and helping the child become inspired and self-motivated, rather than crushed by overly academic and strict teaching. - Adults who feel like their childhood instrumental learning has left them with large gaps in their knowledge and ability, particularly when it comes to improvisation and playing music without sheet music. - Learners who are interested in developing their musicianship, and curious about, but also a bit scared by JAZZ. - Learners who are interested in recording music, and want advice on both music and professional goals and the industry. I am happy to teach grades, but have a strong teaching philosophy that focuses around more specifically tailored learning paths that focus on giving the student the tools needed to become self-sufficient playing and creating music, whether it be to relax at home, play with others, or write songs. If this sounds good, please don't hesistate to get in touch and we can discuss further! About me: I am currently completing my Level 4 Music Educator certificate from Trinity College, and have been fully teaching professionally for just over two years, since finishing my studies. As a trumpeter, I have played on European tours with various bands, played on great stages such as The Royal Festival Hall, Bath Forum, and at Glastonbury Festival. I also have my own band, LYLE!, in which I sing, play keyboards, play trumpet, and write and produce all of the music, as well as playing and performing with many different bands across the UK.

Pop, Contemporary & Jazz Singing and Songwriting Lessons.
Training your voice can be incredibly rewarding. Singing has the power to move us emotionally, calm the nervous system, and help explore a range of emotions we don't get to explore with our voices day to day. Whether you're a starting out and looking to explore or needing to work on a deeper level with interpretation, technique, building strength in the voice, I can help in a number of different areas. I am trained in both classical and jazz technique and theory and hold a Bachelor in Jazz performance. I spent a large part of my singing career singing pop, RnB, folk and contemporary styles. I love to help people find their voice and can assist with songwriting techniques, arrangement, composition, music theory or music production. I studied at Berklee College of Music and taught song production and vocal styles at BIMM Berlin. I have a very colourful background as a professional singer and can help with auditions, exams, build up to a performance and much more. I am very good with all ages of students and am here to encourage you to find the best path for you on your singing journey!

Singing and songwriting lessons. Helping to build confidence and find your own unique voice.
Hello, I’m Laura, and I absolutely love teaching singing. There’s something very special about helping students discover and develop their voice, whether they’re singing for the first time or working towards refining their technique. Watching someone grow in confidence and truly enjoy their singing is what makes teaching so rewarding. I have a Master’s degree in Songwriting from Bath Spa University and vocal training with BAST, giving me a strong foundation in both performance and technique. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing at festivals such as Shambala, Secret Garden Party, Boomtown, and Cheltenham Jazz Festival, as well as supporting big names from the underground music scene across the UK. Through these experiences, I’ve seen first-hand how powerful singing can be, not just as a skill but as a way of expressing something deep and personal. My goal is to help students connect with their voice in a way that feels natural, expressive, and fulfilling. As a qualified and experienced yoga facilitator, I may incorporate breathing exercises and yoga techniques into sessions where needed. These can be particularly helpful in releasing tension, improving mindset, and opening up the voice, allowing students to sing with greater ease and confidence. How I Teach I tailor every lesson to suit the individual. Whether you want to focus solely on singing, songwriting, or a mix of both, we’ll create a session that works for you. My approach is supportive and relaxed, helping students of all levels build confidence and skill in a way that feels enjoyable. • Singing lessons focus on technique, tone, performance, and breathing exercises to help reduce tension and improve vocal control. • Songwriting sessions guide you through developing ideas, refining lyrics, and bringing songs to life. • Basic guitar tuition is also available for those who want to accompany themselves while singing or songwriting.

Creativity for Neurodivergent Artists (creative writers, artists and musicians welcome).
This workshop is designed to empower neurodivergent artists by providing tools and techniques to tap into their unique creative processes. Neurodivergent individuals—whether living with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, or other cognitive differences—often approach creativity in non-linear, innovative ways. This class embraces and celebrates those differences, offering a supportive space to explore, experiment, and collaborate. Participants will be guided through a series of creative exercises that focus on unlocking new ways of thinking, finding flow, and transforming perceived challenges into artistic strengths. We will explore topics such as overcoming creative blocks, adapting work environments for sensory needs, and finding inspiration through unconventional sources. This class encourages the use of visual arts, poetry, storytelling, music, and movement, allowing each artist to express themselves authentically. Whether you're just starting out or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop aims to build confidence and foster a sense of community among neurodivergent artists, helping them unlock their full creative potential. Key Takeaways: - Practical strategies for embracing and enhancing creative processes as a neurodivergent artist. - Techniques for managing focus, sensory overload, and creative burnout. - Opportunities for collaboration and building a supportive network with fellow neurodivergent artists. - Exploration of how neurodivergent perspectives can enrich artistic expression. - This class is open to artists of all mediums and experience levels. I teach out of a cosy and very friendly cafe but it can get busy and occasionally, rather noisy. If you are concerned that this might be overwhelming, I am happy to travel to a location that better suits your sensory needs
