Laurens - Ghent347 CNY
Trusted teacher: Clarinet lessons at all levels: from absolute beginners to advanced players. For me as a teacher it is very important to start from the wishes, needs and competences of the student himself. You can follow lessons via webcam, or at your home near the Ghent - Kortrijk region. If you don't have an instrument available, you can rent one from me. This offer is limited, so please inquire if you're interested. Regarding music and other material: that is taken by me. Below you can find some information about myself: Today - after completing an extensive selection procedure - Laurens is professionally active as a clarinetist with the Royal Marine Band, one of the prestigious orchestras of the Belgian army. In addition to his education at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent, Laurens has had the opportunity to learn several times in a number of masterclasses by, among others, Arno Piters (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Davide Lattuada (Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), Bart de Karter (New Amsterdam Clarinet Quartet), Pascal Moragues (Orchester de Paris), Ricardo Mataredonna (The La Monnaie Theatre), David Van Maele (Royal Music Chapel of the Guides), Bart Watté (Royal Music Chapel of the Guides) etc. Both as a freelancer and an active member, Laurens has played in various orchestras, such as the Royal Band of the Belgian Air Force, Frascati Symphonic, the Euregio Youth Orchestra, the Mahler Student Festival Orchestra, La Chapelle Sauvage, Flanders Young Symphony Orchestra, the Ghent University Symphony Orchestra, the Ghent University Harmony Orchestra... Since 2021, Laurens has been a member of the Meraki Wind Quintet, with which he has already successfully participated in a number of competitions, including the IMC International Music Competition 2023 (1er Prix à l'unanimité), the Euterpe Music Awards 2022 (gold prize), the Classic Pure Vienna International Music Competition 2022 (special mention), and the Fanny Mendelssohn International Online Competition 2022/23 (second prize). Michael - Brussels859 CNY
Trusted teacher: Note: ALL SUPPLIES & TOOLS ARE PROVIDED FOR THE STUDENTS FOR THE FIRST TEN (10) LESSONS — All canvas, stretcher-bars, panels, paper, brushes, pens, pencils, ink, charcoal, paints, varnish, etc. The finished artworks are, of course, your to keep. There are many ways to create a so-called "realistic" oil painting. And there are many visual tools that an artist can use to make a beautiful visual statement. Whether using thick impastos, thin washes of solvent-based color, bodied glazes, or mixed media elements, each technique can yield an engaging visual experience. Painting is, after all, a means of communication. In this course, we will begin with the basic ideas and techniques for drawing and painting forms as the eye sees them. You will learn every stage for producing aesthetically pleasing and technically strong oil paintings. We will discuss concepts and ideas for painting, developing different studies, stretching the canvas, line drawing, tonal lay-in, dead-coloring (or color block-in), and modeling the forms (1st painting, 2nd painting, and finishing). We will also cover the techniques of alla prima or premier coup (direct painting in one pass). We will also study the formal methods of composition, different kinds of perspectives, paint surface and paint quality (facture), and proportions. And, of course, we will discuss the use of varnishes, including the final picture varnish. Stay calm and confident if some of these terms are new to you. We will adapt the lessons for each artist. I will help you to learn, understand, and perform each step of the painting process. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced painter: there is something for you!

Zeynep - Veldhoven429 CNY
Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Zeynep! I am a mathematician with a doctoral degree. After completing my postdoc, I am currently focused on acquiring new skills while continuing to teach. Teaching has always been my passion throughout my academic career. I have 16 years of experience, starting with private tutoring for school children during my undergraduate studies and eventually teaching at the university level to a diverse range of students. I am capable of teaching at all levels, from elementary concepts to specialized topics. In Turkey, I guided many high school students through their International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, helping them gain admission to highly prestigious universities in the UK, Italy, and Switzerland. Some of these students later became colleagues, pursuing academic careers themselves—a gratifying experience! I currently work in the Netherlands with students from various backgrounds, including HAVO students who follow the Dutch curriculum, international students enrolled in the IB program, and high school or bachelor's students from around the globe, all engaging in remote learning. I am also learning Dutch and am currently at an A2 to B1 level. I teach in English while incorporating Dutch terminology to enhance clarity. My experience has shown that the language barrier can easily be overcome when it comes to math. For example, I recently helped a student improve their grade from 5.8 to an impressive 8.4 in just five months. At the higher education level, I have taught several calculus courses (both single and multivariable) and linear algebra for students in engineering, natural sciences (biology, physics), computer science, and administrative sciences. Additionally, I have taught more theoretical courses for mathematics students, such as set theory, real analysis, linear algebra, and number theory. My approach is customized to meet your specific needs while ensuring you fully understand the concepts, methods, and reasoning involved. Together, we will work on improving your ability to identify logical patterns and find solutions within the framework of your curriculum. I am here to support you in achieving your academic goals, whether it is for assignments, tests, or presentations. Feel free to contact me for a meeting if you are seeking assistance with your math learning. Let's see if we can find a good match!

Nipun - Eindhoven297 CNY
Trusted teacher: English: As a teacher, I always work from the needs and level of the student. I believe learning music should be fun as well as practical, so I combine technique with direct application in songs and playing with other instruments. My method focuses on gradually building control and confidence behind the drum kit. A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up and technical exercises (sticks, coordination, timing). After that, we work on grooves or fills, often using a play-along track or music chosen by the student. In band lessons, the emphasis is on playing with other instruments, rehearsal structure, and stage presence: how to play tightly together, present yourself on stage, and how to deal with issues that might occur during your performance. My specific skills lie in modern genres such as (indie) rock, metal, pop, and groove-based styles. As a mentor and an active performer in several bands, I can share not only technical knowledge but also stage experience, rehearsal tips, and help with gear recommendation and learning about auxiliary aspects (recording drums, stage tech, etc). The lessons are intended for students and young musicians of all levels—from absolute beginners learning their first beat to advanced players refining their technique or bands who want to take their rehearsal and live performance to the next level. Group lessons and beginner band coaching are also available, where we work together on ensemble playing, communication, and performing.
