Tutoring in Mathematics A, (Business) Economics, and History.Translate this text using Google Translate.

My lessons are fully tailored to what the student needs. I provide both online and in-person tutoring and work flexibly, but with a clear focus: doing assignments together and truly understanding what you are doing. Thanks to my tutoring experience, I know exactly where students get stuck and how to solve that. During the lesson, we work actively: we take out your assignments and use them as a basis to clarify the theory. I don't just explain what you need to do, but especially why. As a result, you will start recognizing patterns and be able to solve new problems independently, instead of just memorizing tricks. In addition, I pay a lot of attention to learning how to learn. I use principles from cognitive psychology, such as repetition, active retrieval practice, and breaking down complex problems into smaller steps. That might sound technical, but in practice, it means you learn faster and are less likely to forget things. What motivates me to tutor is my passion for mathematics and the fact that many students experience unnecessary stress because of it. In my experience, this is rarely due to a lack of talent, but almost always to unclear explanations or a pace that doesn't suit you. That is why I fully adapt my lessons to your pace and way of thinking, so that you get a better grasp of the material and work with more confidence. My goal is for you to truly understand mathematics, become more independent, and achieve better results, without the stress that often comes with it. Mathematics (A/B/C/D) and physics tutoring for every secondary education levelTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Mathematics (A/B/C/D) and physics tutoring for every secondary education levelTranslate this text using Google Translate.

This is what a lesson with me looks like. As a student at the TU, I tutor mathematics (all levels and all profiles — Mathematics A, B, C, and D) and physics to students in VMBO, HAVO, and VWO. Whether you are stuck on a single topic, want to improve your grade, or are preparing for your final exams: I tailor the lesson to your needs. A typical one-hour lesson looks like this. We start with a short check-in: what did you cover in class this week, what did you struggle with, and what homework or test is coming up? Based on that, we determine the focus of the lesson together. Then we get to the material. I explain the topic again, but in a way that resonates with you — with examples, diagrams, or by going through a problem step by step together. I think it's important that you know not only the answer but also why something works. That makes a huge difference during tests, because you can then apply the material to problems you haven't seen before. Next, you will practice on your own while I observe. If you get stuck, I will provide guidance; if things are going well, I will move on to a more difficult variation. We will conclude with a brief summary of what we have done and agree on what you will work on independently until the next lesson. Between classes, you can always send me a message with a question or a photo of a problem you can't figure out — that's part of it. What I can help you with Explanation of difficult topics: algebra, functions, trigonometry, differentiation and integration, probability, vectors, mechanics, electricity, and everything related. Homework assistance and test preparation Exam training Mathematics A/B/C/D and Physics (HAVO and VWO) Catch up if you have just moved to a higher level or chosen a new profile Approach Mathematics and physics are subjects that you only truly understand once you have worked with them yourself. My role is to clarify the material, give you the confidence to persevere, and teach you how to tackle a problem independently — so that you are no longer dependent on me during the test. Lessons can take place at home or online via video call, whichever suits you best.

After tutoring for over 6 years in the Amsterdam area, I am very familiar with the various school curriculums. Having moved around quite a bit, I understand the stress students undergo adapting to new schooling systems. I enjoy working privately with students to build their confidence. I previously was a primary school teacher of all subjects (Grades 1&2) for a private international school in Dubai. I am familiar with international school curriculum and challenges faced by students when moving to a new country. I have extensive experience with students of all learning levels. I have been privately tutoring for over 10 years now. English is my first language (I am American). I also have experience tutoring at a higher age (as well as university level). I am an excellent writer, editor, and researcher and work part time in UVA's graduate school in the sociology department. I completed my MSc at UVA and undergraduate at UCLA. Currently, the majority of my students are primary school students who attend the British school or ISA. However, I teach a large number of international school students or older students. I also tutor many students, of various ages, in the Dutch schooling system. I am very comfortable with international school curriculums, however, I also have a good grasp on the Dutch schooling system. While I teach students of various ages and backgrounds, I would consider myself a specialist in primary school students whose second language is English. Please feel free to message me and find out more! **All rates include KVK sales tax **Additional fee charged for students over 20 minutes by bike

Math I tutor mathematics to students who want extra support or want to improve their results. During the lessons, I explain difficult topics step by step in a clear and calm manner. We work together on understanding, exercises, and efficient solution methods so that you gain more confidence and become stronger in the subject. Physics Physics becomes much simpler when you understand the logic behind the formulas. During my lessons, you will learn not only how to apply theory and formulas, but above all how to solve problems in a structured way. We practice together with examples and exam questions so that you truly understand the material and are better prepared for tests and exams. Economy I help students clearly understand economic concepts and theories and apply them correctly. During the lessons, we work on gaining insight into themes such as supply and demand, markets, inflation, enterprises, and financial analysis. Through practical examples and exercises, economics becomes clearer and easier to apply. To play chess These chess lessons are suitable for beginners and advanced players who want to improve their level. You will learn important principles such as opening techniques, tactics, strategy, endgames, and positional awareness. During the lessons, we analyze games and practice practical situations so that you learn to play stronger and more confidently.

We had our first session a few days ago, with Alessandra tutoring my 8 year old son and 5 year old daughter, developing their reading and writing in English and their mathematics. Alessandra's previous experience as a teacher certainly shines through, as she definitely seems to know how children of this age learn. She provided original and exciting activities for the kids and they found it great fun; they are looking forward to seeing her again next week. Alessandra was professional to work with and I can definitely recommend her.

In terms of vocabulary, I had a good foundation through Duolingo. Decided to take one-to-one lessons with Palina to also improve grammar and listening and speaking skills. Now at lesson 4 and very happy with my choice :). After saying hello (in Russian of course) the lesson starts with a listening or speaking practice, followed by a short repetition of the grammar rule of the previous lesson and the introduction of a new grammar rule. Keep in mind, however, that the structure of lessons may depend on your level of Russian.

Vladimir is a great tutor. Even though we’re both from Utrecht University, which makes the material covered very familiar, he created an environment where we felt like equals, making the learning much more comfortable and natural. Instead of just giving me answers or sets, he walks through each step with me. Highly recommend for Economics, Microeconomics and Market Failures courses.
