This class is for anyone interested starting learning or gaining new insights to playing the violin. Depending on the student's final goal we adjust the repertoire and skills that are needed for obtaining the goal.
As a musician I am inspired by many styles of playing, with classical music and Scandinavian folk being my main focus.
My goal as a teacher is to keep and increase the students love for music as well as offer necessary and appropriate skills to keep the student challenged.

Welcome on today's Show! Today's special guest - Saimi!
Hi, my name is Saimi - a very outgoing half finnish-estonian girl who loves music, weird humour, fishing, linguistics, anything vintage and snow.
I am a classical music student at the Uniarts Helsinki Sibelius Academy and FRIKA (Free Candidate program) student at the Norwegian Academy of Music, where in addition to classical violin I study the Norwegian hardingfele. I am actively playing in orchestras and taking part of masterclasses all around the Globe. Starting from the year 2017 I have been an active member of the Baltic Sea Philharmonic which has brought me to such big stages like Berlin Philharmonie, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg etc.
In addition to playing classical music, I play (and sing) a lot of Nordic folk music - especially with my trio - Trio Lumi.
I can offer you instruction in:
- classical violin
- folk violin (focus on Scandinavian and Baltic music)
- hardingfele
- folk singing
