Guitar Lessons in The Hague For all ages and Styles
With over 15 years of teaching experience, I offer private guitar lessons in many styles for all ages and all levels. I am also an active performer, mostly performing my own singer-songwriter music in the folk-rock genre. Classes are offered in English, Dutch and German.
I am from Los Angeles originally where I received my degree in music with a minor in Classical Guitar from California State University, Northridge.
I have been playing guitar since I was 11 years old. Back in those days, I was mostly inspired by rock music, learning to play by ear by listening to the radio. Later, I went to Conservatory and studied classical music, therefore learning in a more structured way. This gives me a unique approach to teaching, because I understand playing by ear and feeling, as well as having a background in music theory. It is a mix of these two worlds that I offer in my lessons. In this way, my students progress quickly while having a basis of how music works so that they can continue to grow for endless years to come.
My approach to teaching is to get lasting results for the students and to make sure they have a great time. The lessons are light and joyful, as music should be. I work hard to make sure my students experience the rewards of reaching new plateaus regularly as they progress. It is also important to me that my students play songs/pieces that they enjoy playing. We will discuss your musical tastes, or work to discover the musical tastes of your child.
So whatever your age, musical experience, or lack of thereof, get in touch and let's get you or your child playing the guitar right away. I look forward to hearing from you!

Sahil heeft een leuke benadering van de les (niet alleen een boekje maar ook bekende nummers waardoor de muziek veel meer aanspreekt) en heeft leuk veel geduld met de jongere leerling. Een aanrader!

And the most important aspect, to have fun and enjoy the journey!

Piano lessons for all levels (with music theory if wanted)
As an experienced solo pianist and ensemble player, I would love to share with you my passion for music. I believe that practicing an instrument can be a great activity for everybody. It trains coordination, memory, multitasking skills and brings a lot of satisfaction and fun.
We can adjust activities in our lessons to your personal goals. Whether you want to apply for music school, prepare for a competition, learn how to read music notation, accompany somebody, or just play for your own enjoyment.
We can focus on the repertoire that you would like to play - classical, pop, or film music. I can also teach music theory if you would like to.

Guitar, Mandolin, Music Theory lessons by enthusiastic tutor and performer
Enthusiastic guitar tutor and performer.
I started playing classical guitar at the age of 6, and my formal musical education began at the age of 9 when I started attending a music school in Croatia. After 6 years of primary school, I continued studying classical guitar at a secondary music school in Varazdin, Croatia. During that period I received training in classical harmony, Counterpoint (polyphony), Solfeggio, Music history and gained plenty of experience in orchestral playing and choral singing. I decided to continue my musical education in Manchester where I was studying for an undergraduate degree at the Royal Northern College of Music and currently I am studying at the Royal Conservatoire in the Hague. As a performing guitarist, I have successfully participated and won prizes in a number of international competitions in the UK, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Hercegovina. Although my studies are primarily related to classical music, I am comfortable playing and performing music in a range of other styles and genres. I am also experienced with mandolin and Croatian folk instrument called tamburitza.

Cello, Piano and Music Theory Lessons in English, Dutch & Polish // for Beginners and Advanced // Zeeheldenkwartier
I'm offering productive music lessons in a friendly environment.
I'll guide your development from any level. I treat every student as an individual, and I adapt my approach accordingly - whether making music is your hobby or you have rather serious plans with it.
Depending on what you aim for, I'll choose nice pieces/songs andinteresting exercises. I always care about leaving my students with necessary tools for practice on their own when I'm not around to guide them.
You'll learn a stable intonation, develop your rhythmical sense, musical interpretation, good posture and apparatus that works for you individually. Together we can go not only for the classical, but also pop, rock or film music. What you might also enjoy during the lesson is playing together in a duo with me - so you can experience making music with another person, which is a super fun!
There is many fantastic advantages to learning music, such as growth of your musical taste and artistic sensitivity, and as even science proves - enhancement of your brain capacity.
But learning the cello or piano - the instruments that everyone wants to play ♡ - will truly inspire you by its unique sound.
//Beside my main instrument lesson domain, I offer help with Music Theory, Ear Training, Solfege, Music History//

Rui
Piano and Music Theory lessons in The Hague and Voorburg
Hello there!
Welcome to my profile. I am Rui and I teach piano. The piano is known as the most complete musical instrument of all. This is because when playing it we can get all kinds of characters and sounds: very deep basses or super soft high notes; delicate melodies or dense harmonies (almost like an orchestra sometimes). This is one of the reasons why I love to play the piano, its versatility adapts to my everyday mood.
I would love to show you the wonders we can create with this amazing instrument!
Lessons
Every student is different, and by saying this I mean that I prepare every lesson specifically for each student. Some might be more shy, others might need more time to acknowledge some questions.
I believe that music (much like everything else) should be taught with patience and motivation.
You shouldn’t feel like you’re going against time, it should be the opposite. As a teacher, I always give priority to your motivation and excitement regarding the lesson’s activity. If I see that a student is not enjoying the lesson I have to improvise and turn it around.
When teaching, the most important thing for me is that you learn while having fun.
I have already some years of experience in giving piano lessons to people for all ages. I adapt the lesson content for every student individually, and I always give them the freedom to follow their musical taste and instincts. I also give a lot of focus to creativity and improvisation.
At the end of the lesson, I usually save a few minutes for the student to decide what he/she wants to do: maybe a little 4-hand improvisation, or maybe play a piece they have already learned and that they enjoy playing.
About me
Most of my studies and experience as a teacher took place in Portugal. I completed my Bachelor Degree in Piano Performance in 2020.
I moved to The Netherlands in 2020 to attend the Master Program in Classical Piano Performance in the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague.
My academic studies were built on classical music but I also have some experience in pop and rock music.
I hope this motivates you to study piano with me! Looking forward to seeing you soon during your first lesson!
Emiliano
Jazz and Classic guitarist, teacher and performer.
I’m Emiliano an Italian Jazz guitarist based in Den Haag (NL), currently studying at the Royal Conservatory (Den Haag)
During the high school years in Italy I have been collaborating as a guitarist and by offering support to the arrangement for the yearly school concerts with renowned musicians like the world- famous violin player Alessandro Quarta, the singer and conductor Carolina Bubbico, the jazz saxophone player and artistic director of the "Locomotive Jazz Festival" Raffaele Casarano, the producer and multi-instrumentalist Filippo Bubbico.
I also collaborated with the actor Fabrizio Saccomanno by playing in the ensemble accompanying a theatrical representation of the Dante's "Inferno" adapted by Fabrizio Saccomanno himself and played at the Teatro Apollo in Lecce.
2016 - present: During the second year of the high school, intrigued by the jazz singing lessons I was attending, I started exploring and appreciating the jazz music and I started approaching it on the guitar by attending private lessons with the teachers Andrea Favatano and Giancarlo Del Vitto. The passion for jazz music has grown in me ever since, so much so that today it represents my favourite genre when playing or listening to music.
During 2018 I attended two seminars:
- a one-week jazz guitar and ensemble music seminar with Mike Moreno, Aaron Parks, Matt Brewer and Kendrick Scott in Fara Sabina, near Rome - Italy;
- a one-week harmony and ensemble music seminar with Barry Harris in Rome - Italy. During 2019 I attended several seminars and masterclasses:
- a one-day guitar masterclass with Scott Henderson in Martano (LE) - Italy;
- a one-day bass masterclass with John Patitucci in Matera - Italy;
- a one-day jazz ensemble music masterclass with Luca Alemanno in Lecce - Italy; - a two-day guitar masterclass with Jesse van Ruller in Pomarico (MT) - Italy;
- a one-day guitar masterclass with Peter Bernstein in Trepuzzi (LE) - Italy.
2020- in the Netherlands I had the opportunity to perform in theaters like Tivoli Vredenburg (Utrecht) , Perdu (Amsterdam), Compagnie Theater (Amsterdam) and others
2020- I’m currently studying with jazz Guitarist Matijn Van Ieterson,
2021 I had the possibility to work and study with great musicians like Pedro Martins, Chris Cheek, Simon Moullier, Antoine Boyer, Philip Maniez ( big band project).
I’m active as musicians and performer in the Netherlands and Italy.
Joana Maria
Piano and Music - "Every pianist should focus on being a complete and balanced musician"
"I am a pianist. I started playing the piano at the age of seven and I am passionate about music. I am fascinated by the world of pedagogy, understanding that teaching is helping to learn. I am committed to my work with dedication and enthusiasm, and I believe that motivation is the key to both teaching and learning. I want to educate in values and I am committed to the pursuit of educational quality, based on equity and excellence. I am flexible and adaptable to each person, I like teamwork. I appreciate discipline, rigour in my work, effort and resilience. My aim is to help students learn constructively and to help them become autonomous as soon as possible. The focus is always on the student."
I STRUCTURE THE CLASSES IN THREE BLOCKS, which I consider essential:
- TECHNIQUE: through exercises and studies we must develop technical ability.
-WORKS OF ALL STYLES: we learn from the great artists of all periods.
-INTRODUCTION TO JAZZ AND MODERN MUSIC: we will create a routine to work on improvisation and develop creativity.
These are the paths I propose, but each student is free to develop what he/she wishes. I also complement the classes with musical language and harmony.
Every pianist should focus on being a complete and balanced musician. We must develop aural skills, sight-reading, mastery of musical language and harmony, composition, improvisation, creativity, a critical spirit, good taste in music, and above all, a passion for music.

Guitar, piano and singing lessons for beginners: theory, practice, improvisation and composition
Music has always been my biggest passion and I really enjoy sharing it with other people. My main music genres are pop, rnb, ballades, a bit of jazz and soul.
I can read music notes, but I mainly play by ear (which can be learned too!). I am into music theory and how it helps to understand what one hears and plays.
When it comes to singing, I know some basic techniques and can help with pitch, harmonizing, control and feeling comfortable/confident when singing.
I can teach some basics about improvisation and composition
