Trusted teacher: I am giving face-to-face piano lessons tailored specifically for beginners. As a classical singer with extensive piano training, I bring a unique perspective to teaching piano, combining technical skill with musical expression. Each lesson is crafted to fit your individual needs, ensuring a solid foundation in piano playing. Whether you are starting from scratch or have a basic understanding, our lessons will help you progress at your own pace. We'll cover essential skills such as reading music, understanding rhythm, and developing finger strength and dexterity. Proper technique and posture are crucial for long-term success and avoiding injury. I will guide you through exercises and practices to develop good habits from the start. Being a classical singer, I emphasize the importance of musical expression. We will explore dynamics, phrasing, and articulation to bring your playing to life. Lessons are conducted in my cozy home-studio, providing a relaxed and focused atmosphere. You'll have access to a digital piano and all the necessary materials for an engaging learning experience. In addition to playing the piano, we'll explore elements of music theory and ear training, providing you with a well-rounded musical education. This comprehensive approach ensures you not only play notes but understand the music you are creating. I am dedicated to fostering a love for music in each of my students. My goal is to make learning enjoyable and rewarding, helping you to develop a lifelong appreciation for the piano. The lessons are suitable for both children and adults.

Trusted teacher: Music is Play! and everyone is it's own game. Read, understand and make only the music you like. I think if it isn't fun, it can't be music:) I studied a classical piano bachelor, and later a jazz master and a live electronics master. In the meantime, I have been teaching music. It's longer than 9 years now! Most of my students learn piano. With the starter ones, I use my own system to equally help them grow all the needed skills: body consciousness (to avoid lesions or bad habits), music theory (including writing and reading) and improvisation. Usually most songs are made of melody, chords and rhythm. From there, I can help you understand how a song works, how is it written, how does it translate to the piano... and voilá! You'll know the song by heart, and will be able to play it a bit different every time, because you won't be following a set of pre-imposed instructions. You will understand how a small system (a song) works. This way of learning can be applied to any song, from any century or style. Understanding is key! Play Chopin, write rock songs, play Monk, Bill Evans, the Beatles, make a lo-fi beat, play Beethoven, play the Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter and Star Wars, play video game music, play salsa! bachata and make people dance, laugh or cry. Music is very powerful! PD: I have also experience imparting electronic music lessons in Ableton Live and Max MSP, which is now a very important part of my professional practice. In case you are interested, it is also possible to mix the two worlds and create a any kind of path between piano, synths, beats and home studio techniques. Ask me anything, I'll tell you how I could help!

Trusted teacher: My teaching method developed during 20 years of experience and thanks to my studies of Music Pedagogy and Piano Teaching during my Master's in Piano at Livorno's Conservatory. I am currently a piano teacher in a British School and I prepared several students for ABRSM and Trinity College exams. As a private piano teacher, I work preferably in my studio, on a beautiful grand piano Yamaha, but, if not too far, I am also available for lessons at the student's house. My teaching is adapted to the skills and goals of each student. With beginning children, I aim at full musical development of the student (not just playing notes, but feeling the rhythm, singing, and expressing emotions through free improvisation); technically I don't work only at the finger position, but at the organic interaction arm-wrist-fingers, through simple exercises. With adult or advanced students, I observe them, to suggest which type of repertory to work together, and which aspects of the technique might still need improvement. I teach classically, through the learning of notes, harmony, and written music, but I teach also how to play songs with only chord symbols, and blues improvisation at a basic level. Both with children and adults I aim at creating a joyful experience during the lesson, in which focus is gained in a playful way, finding each time the best practicing solutions to technical and musical difficulties. In this way, practicing at home becomes not another heavy duty to add to an already busy schedule, but repeating a creative, searching experience, that is never the same. Books: the use of a method is often suggested in the first years. Later I advice classical pieces to be studied. Also, Pop or Rock songs that the student would like to perform are well accepted, if I think the student can play them.
