The drumset is one of the most important and powerful instruments in a music ensemble. It does not only provide the rhythm and groove foundation for all the other instruments - it also defines the sound of the band, the character of the songs, the volume... just like an orchestra conductor. In these lessons (which are of course personalized and open depending on the interests of the student) we will work beyond the physical/mechanical aspect of the drums (technique, coordination, etc) into the musical aspect, so we will spend some time listening and analyzing music together, working on ear training and music theory from a practical point of view.

Want to learn more about what's behind classical music? Do you want to learn to write music yourself? Or are you already writing music, and would you like guidance or feedback? Then I can help you with this! I graduated as a composer at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (Bachelor) and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (Master). I have a lot of experience writing for solo instruments, ensembles, choirs and orchestras, and electronics. For music theory, I can take a general, broad approach, or we can focus on certain types of music and explore it, depending on your needs. For composition, we can discuss the basics if you are just starting or planning to compose. If you've been doing it for a while, we'll focus more on the music you make and discuss it with each other.

Hi, My name is Benjamin and I am 16 years old. I give guitar lessons and I really enjoy teaching people to play the guitar. I give you as a student the opportunity to choose songs yourself, but of course I also like to inspire my students. I enjoy learning everything from fingerstyle to hard rock. I myself am very much in the rock scene and love artists like The Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan. I would like it if you indicate where you want to grow yourself on the guitar. I teach acoustic and electric guitar, so fortunately you have complete freedom as a student. I teach my lessons physically and online (depends on what works better for you). If you want it at home, I agree. So have you always wanted to play the guitar, and you really can't pass it up? Let us know and become a real artist!

I am 21 years old and I am currently a flute student at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. I finished my studies in conservatories in France and obtained a license in music and musicology at the Sorbonne (Paris IV). I offer personalized lessons meeting the desires and ambitions of everyone, from the simple beginner to the confirmed musician. For the flute lessons, I offer exercises for sound, technique, adapted pieces. During music theory lessons, I can give tips for learning to read keys, rhythms, and offer dictations. Studying the theory allows you to learn to recognize chords, to calculate a score, to analyze the structure of a piece, to recognize the style from musical elements. It is possible to combine several lessons, for example half an hour of flute then a quarter of an hour of music theory.

During this period of time, I had been playing in the Orchestra Academy of La Scala in Milan for 2 years, and I am currently playing at the Metropole Orkest in Amsterdam. With the experiences I gained over the years - including the teaching experience in the Conservatory of Cambrai (France) - I became an expert in teaching violin and keyboards as well as music theory, including writing and reading scores. I have been teaching to the different age groups and different levels of technical backgrounds (beginner or advanced). I can easily adapt myself to the level of each student to create a synchronicity and help them pursue their goals and wishes. I am there to help them as a teacher and a music coach for their musical career. I can combine different practices and teach basic techniques in repertoire that matches the personality of the student (from classical to contemporary, pop, rock and more). Based on the teaching experiences I have, I can consider myself as a teacher with patience, motivating style and an open mind. Happy to provide references from my previous students from Amsterdam / Paris / Milan if requested. Next to my technical teaching skills, I am also actively involving in various musical projects. I have recently performed for major TV shows in Paris: Le Grand Échiquier (France 2), Variations (France Télévisions, Culturbox), and I am currently making my first classical / electronic album in Amsterdam.
