English for foreign students (Beginners to Advanced)
A partir de 23.29 $ /h
Learning another language is an incredible adventure which opens many new doors and opportunities to students. However, it can be challenging, difficult and frustrating. I teach beginners to advanced students. My goal is to create an environment that is supportive and engaging, allowing students to build English proficiency and confidence. I use the first lesson to get an idea of the level of English the student is at. The next step is for the student (or parent) and I to set achievable goals. I then work step by step with the student to achieve these goals. I structure my lessons to suit my student's individual needs and learning styles. I aim at providing fun and interactive classes. I include many action games and songs, particularly with my younger students. My lessons with teenagers and adults are more formal, but I still use games, film and role play to enhance their lessons. I set up real life scenarios so students can see the language in action. I include pronunciation exercises into each class as I believe that speaking English well is one of the top goals of my prospective students. I look forward to joining prospective students in this journey, sharing in their progress as they achieve their goals.

Acerca de mí
I love meeting new people. I enjoy having time to get to know more about them, their countries, customs, and traditions. I teach children and adults, beginners to advanced speakers. One of the first things I do when a new student joins my classes is to establish that student's individual needs and learning style. The next step is to set realistic goals for the student. We have a discussion and determine a few realistic goals that are achievable. I then work step by step with the student to achieve those goals. I try and create a supportive and engaging environment in my classes, allowing students to build English proficiency and confidence. I arrange fun and interactive classes. I use music, film, games, and role play to enhance my classes. I like to set up real life scenarios so students can see language in action. I try and include pronunciation exercises into each lesson so students become fluent speakers.

Experiencia / Calificaciones
I qualified as a pharmacist and worked as a Pharmacy manager for many years, I trained Pharmacy interns to dispense, store medication, and to run a retail pharmacy. I acted as a teachers assistant, supervising classes when the teacher was absent. I taught prepared lessons, checked that students understood the lessons, and completed them. I hosted international students in my home for 3 to 6 months. They were in South Africa to learn English, and a little about South Africa. I taught some formal classes, but most of the learning took place in real life situations, with me to guide them, as we travelled the country. I am still in touch with several of these students, and they all speak very good English. I assisted in a Reading Programme and worked in a Library.
