من أنا؟

Hello! My name is Barbara and I am a violinist from Croatia. I have two master degrees, one from the Arts Academy of Split in Croatia and one from the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp in Belgium.
Before I came to Belgium I was a permanent member of the Croatian National Theatre orchestra on the position of 1st violin tutti and assistent concertmaster, currently I am a member of the Quiron Quartet, I freelance in symphonic orchestras around Belgium and play in other chamber music projects.

Trough the course of my education period and in my professional life I have stumbled upon a lot of issues and difficulties I needed to figure out how to solve. Studying with multiple professors and going to private lessons gave me (and still is) different pieces of the puzzle and together with my own observations, I started to understand it is really about knowing how things operate and giving it some love and practice. I want to share everything I know to help you become a great violin player.

The classes will depend on what you want and need at the moment, it can be tehnical excercizes, posture, making you more aware and relaxed in general and/or repertoire directly, we will discuss it together and make it work for you!

Do you want to learn to play music at your own pace and in a relaxed atmosphere? Without compulsory theory lessons, without pressure, stress or exams? Are you busy with school, or with other hobbies? Or can the music school not be combined with a job, and do you prefer the personal approach to private lessons? Then you can come to me for a daily lesson package that we can adjust to your personal expectations and ambition. That can be weekly, biweekly ... with or without theory. You can come to me both during the day and in the evening, a fixed day is not necessary either.

Arabic Lute or Ud plays a very prominent role in Arabic music: people call him the 'sultan' of the Arabic instruments.
In these lessons we will approach the traditional instrumental repertoire with original point of view, Egyptian school, Iraqis school and Moroccan school, analyzing ornaments and elements of virtuosity.

I have many experiences teaching young children, adolescents and adults, your lessons are completely tailor-made to your needs.
