I'm friends with the violin for more than 17 years and as an academically educated musician, I believe I can help you befriend it too!
My main goal is for the student to develop interest and love for the violin, and the music itself. That way you will want to learn more and the instrument will become your friend, then - the skill will come inevitably. We are not learning music to stress about it but to enjoy it!
I believe in an individual approach to every person, and I respect different temperaments and learning pace. I consider technique important, but what I find even more important is listening and finding the right technique through the sound and not the other way around :)
I am patient and understanding, and I will do my best to make your learning take place in a pleasant and cheerful atmosphere without judging and harsh criticism.

About Me

Hi! My name is Sabina and I am a graduate student at the Music Academy at the University of Sarajevo (only one exam to go! :D). I've been playing the violin for more than 17 years now and I have a lot of personal (positive and negative) experiences with different teaching methods. I'm grateful that now I'm in a position that I can share my knowledge with other people.
My main goal is to make the student interested in music and develop a love for the violin. That way you will want to learn more and the instrument will become your friend, then - the skill will come inevitably. I will do my best to make these music lessons be your happy place and time of the day, stress and frustration-free!

Education

I'm playing the violin since 2003., and today I'm a graduate student at the Sarajevo Music Academy. I have been on a lot of masterclasses, and of course, learned a lot by listening and watching great violinists.

Experience / Qualifications

I've been working mostly with beginners (on and offline) in private lessons. I've also learned a lot by being on the other side - a student - where I created an image of what teaching style works the best.

Hello! My name is Gloria and I have been playing the violin for over 15 years. I'm finishing my bachelor's at the Academy of Arts and work as a tutor with beginner and intermediate level children.

I have inherited the passion and love for teaching from my own violin professor who taught me everything I know so I am determined to share it with my students. Whether it be classical music, serious preparations for exams and competitions or just simple songs, music brings people happiness, so let's make some music!

As much as talking and explaining is important, in the end showing is what matters. Of course, with each lesson, I will explain what we will do, what is the piece about, what was the composer's intentions, we need to know the background. After that, I will play it for you (as many times as you need/want) I will always correct you positively, because no one likes harsh criticism, in my opinion, that is not how good music will be born.

We will work on your posture(left and right hand), technique, preparations for exams or competitions. Also mental preparations before going out on stage and beating stage fright!

I will adapt to every student's level, so do not fret! There is no grading or judging in my class!

I am a professional violinist who has been consistently involved in the classical music industry since 2013.
I studied and worked throughout Australia for 20 years and have now permanently relocated to Novi Sad, Serbia (my home country). I speak Serbian fluently, so communication in either Serbian or English won't be a problem.

I make sure to provide structured and well-planned lessons, always with your musical goals in mind. Lessons with me are productive as well as fun - you will leave each lesson with a new skill and a positive attitude about your music-making and development.

I work with people who are preparing for exams, concerts or who simply are learning the violin for enjoyment.

I am passionate about music and about teaching. No matter your age or stage in development, I care about helping you to achieve your goals and expand your knowledge of the instrument and music itself. I can teach any genre of music, although I specialise in classical music.
