Basgitaarlessen met een holistieke, "all-round" character.

We gaan op de lessen samen oefenen en we gaan hier jouw allerliefste liedjes voor gebruiken. Ik geloof dat als je met een stuk muziek diepe emotionele contact hebt, wordt de leerproces ook sneller, gezelliger en vloeiender!

Onze belangrijkste thema's:

- techniek en overzicht van de bas (waar?)
- algemene muziekleer, gehoortraining (waarom?)
- creatieve improvisatie en compositie (wat?)

I am a graduate of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, with several years of experience as a teacher as well as a performer, and professional composer and arranger. I am passionate about music education and can offer tuition in guitar, music theory, songwriting and composition for all ages and abilities.

In guitar lessons, I want to be able to give students the tools they need to be able to express themselves fluently on the instrument. We will work on technique and essential theory, but there will also be a big focus on playing songs and learning tunes, which I believe is essential to understanding the instrument.

I am also able to offer lessons in music theory, from beginner level to advanced jazz and classical theory. If you need assistance preparing for an entrance exam or theory exam, or if you just want to expand your general knowledge, then I am able to help. Through the study and analysis of theory in the context of musical compositions, I am able to give you a solid understanding of how music works on a theoretical level, widening your understanding of music as a whole.

If you want you expand your creative instincts, I can also offer composition and songwriting lessons. Whether you want to perform as a singer songwriter, arrange for big band, or write music for symphony orchestra, I can offer tuition which will give you the tools necessary to improve in these areas.

I teach from home and I am also able to teach over Skype/Zoom.

Hoi,

Ik heet Benjamin en ik ben 16 jaar oud. Ik geef gitaarles en vind het erg leuk om mensen de gitaar te leren bespelen. Ik geef jouw als leerling de kans om zelf liedjes uit te kiezen, maar ik vind het natuurlijk ook leuk om mijn leerlingen te inspireren. Van fingerstyle tot hard rock vind ik alles leuk om aan te leren. Ik ben zelf heel erg in de rockscene te vinden en houd van artiesten als The Rolling Stones en Bob Dylan. Ik zou het wel fijn vinden als je aangeeft waar je zelf in wilt groeien op de gitaar. Ik geef les in akoestische en elektrische gitaar, dus daar heb je als leerling gelukkig alle vrijheid in. Ik geef mijn lessen fysiek en online (ligt eraan wat beter werkt voor jou). Als je het thuis wilt, vind ik dat ook goed. Dus heb jij altijd al gitaar willen spelen, en kan je hem echt niet laten liggen? Laat het weten en wordt een echte artiest!

If you’re interested in learning the flute and/ or gaining a new understanding of music through harmony, this lesson will provide that for you.

If you choose to, we’ll cover technique, improvisation, reading music, tone control and expression. We’ll also go over the fundamentals of harmony to give you the tools that will help with any other instrument. Your listening skills will also be developed. All entirely up to you, of course, we’ll only go as far as you wish.

De Basgitaar lessen worden op alle niveaus gegeven van beginneling tot vergevorderden/professionals. Je leert hoe het instrument te bespelen, met een juiste houding en de juiste technische en theoretische onderbouwing van al dat gene wat je leren wilt. Er kan ook een wat bredere muziek theoretische kennis aangeleerd worden. Er wordt op de student's wensen maatwerk geleverd.

Bij de muziektheorie lessen wordt inzicht gegeven in hoe de westerse muziek theorie functioneert en hoe deze in de praktijk toegepast wordt. Ook worden er oefeningen gedaan om het gehoor te ontwikkelen en aan de hand van of piano, gitaar of basgitaar worden muziek theoretisch oefeningen gedaan. Het doel is om te leren begrijpen wat de theorie achter de muziek is en waarom deze zo functioneert.

De Gitaar (of Piano) lessen worden uitsluitend op beginners niveau gegeven. De basisvaardigheden van het instrument worden aangeleerd en ook wordt er inzicht gegeven in eenvoudige muziek theoretische kwesties waarmee de student tot een in veel verder gevorderd stadium profijt heeft van deze verworven inzichten en sneller vooruitgang boeken kan op zijn/haar instrument.

Eh?! What?!! Let's stop the blabla... Guitar is killing! Everyone loves it (that's probably why you're here) and I'm guessing you're like "How can I learn some of this crazy guitar stuff without selling one of my kidneys to some creepy guy on Youtube".

Well... I'm not offering you the rock 'n' roll lifestyle, sprinkled with angel dust and full of groupies languidly waiting for you backstage, but I can at least offer you an organized guitar lesson based on a comprehensive approach to the instrument, targeted to your musical aspirations... In other words: what YOU like! I sincerely believe that the most effective way to learn music is to delve into what you love and explore it with passion and dedication. We will always start from the songs you like, step by step, following your workflow. My goal is simply to give you the best tips and tricks so that you can enjoy playing the songs you love or, if you wish, organize your guitar practice in the most efficient way.

MOST IMPORTANT: I love to jam so be prepare to play some music :-).

Over de lessen

Heb je er altijd van gedroomd om je muzikale talenten te ontwikkelen? Ben je een amateurzanger of een beginner die graag een paar basisbeginselen wil leren om je stem beter te begrijpen en te beheersen? Dan bent u bij ons aan het juiste adres! :)
Optioneel kan ik ook inleidende lessen muziektheorie geven, om je te helpen de moeilijkheden van de muzikale taal onder de knie te krijgen.
Deze cursus is bedoeld voor iedereen die net begint of die zijn zangvaardigheden wil perfectioneren, kinderen of volwassenen van alle leeftijden en achtergronden. /!\ De lessen worden alleen in het Engels of Frans gegeven bij mij thuis in Amsterdam (Osdorp).

Cursusinhoud

• Ademhalingsoefeningen (om te leren hoe je je ademhaling kunt beheersen en een goede stemondersteuning kunt gebruiken)
• Ooroefeningen (om de toonhoogtenauwkeurigheid en intonatie te verbeteren)
• Stem- en zangoefeningen (aangepast aan het niveau van de student) om op te warmen en een betere stemtechniek te ontwikkelen
• Repertoirewerk over aria’s, liederen of andere muziekstukken (klassiek of popmuziek, afhankelijk van de wensen van de student) waarin de student verder wil komen
• (als bonus, indien nodig) ondersteuning of introductie in de muziektheorie

Het muzikale doel en het beoogde niveau worden (onder mijn begeleiding) aan het begin van de lessen individueel bepaald, afhankelijk van de wensen van de individuele leerling. Het doel van de cursus is te bepalen wat het beste bij u past: uw niveau verbeteren zodat u kunt toetreden tot muziekinstellingen, vooruitgang boeken om uzelf te overtreffen, of gewoon de nieuwsgierigheid om nieuwe dingen te ontdekken, of gewoon het plezier van het muziek maken!

Mijn naam is Gerrit, en ik bied muziek en gitaarles aan beginners en gemiddelde spelers.
Ik speel 15 jaar gitaar, waarvan 2 jaar op het conservatorium. Momenteel volg ik de studie muziekwetenschap aan de UvA. Ik ben vooral gericht op het spelen van de gitaar, maar ik kan ook kennis opbrengen op het gebied van muziektheorie, muziekproductie en compositie. Vooral het plezier hebben in het maken van muziek staat bij mij centraal.
Ik maak ook mijn eigen muziek, dus mensen die al een beetje gitaar kunnen spelen en dit willen uitbreiden om hun eigen liedjes te schrijven zijn ook welkom! Dit kunnen we uiteindelijk opnemen in de computer, en er eigen muziek van maken.
