Thats why also offer lessons on the craft of reed making, from the basics of making your first reed to perfecting concert grade reeds. My piano lessons cover a wide range of musical styles from Classical music, through Jazz all the way to contemporary pop music, depending on the students interests. Depending on the needs of the student the teaching can include and focus on different technical aspects such as finger flexibility, music theory or improvisation.

I am current in Master in Oboe in HFMDK Frankfurt. I give oboe lessons as also music theory lessons, to all levels and age. My approach is always to understand the knowledge of the student and work from that one, searching for a way of keep the student enthusiastic with music.

In my Oboe lessons I like to focus on the individual needs of the student, for instance breathing technique, posture, the embouchure, or finger work. I set my lessons around the music my students are learning and focus on creativity within the music and exploring the different ways of musicality, so that my students can have a wide skill set of phrasings, dynamics and articulations. I include reed making in my classes depending on the student's ability with the instrument, and I am very happy to provide reeds as well as an extra service. When I teach piano, I include a range of different styles in my lessons. For beginners, I work from various books to encourage them to learn how to read notes on the page as well as playing freely. I also include melody writing which makes the process of learning notes and music easier and more exciting for the student. I work on posture, finger work and different ways of expression on the instrument which gives the student a choice of how to perform and different ways of expressing their musicianship. I coach abilities from complete beginner to intermediate. I can work in both German and English.

I will tell you something else about my professional life I have a Bachelor's degree from the University of Havana in oboe and chamber music, I have played with many orchestras in Cuba and in Germany, I have played in such important stages with the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the ELphilarmonie in Hamburg, countries like Argentina, Mexico and the Dominican Republic, playing classical music and jazz. Now I am studying my Master in oboe at Fontys University in Tilburg, Holland. I can teach you a lot so don't miss the opportunity !!

I generally structure my lessons in the format of long tones, scales, sight-reading, etude and pieces. Depending on the student's ability and goals when it comes to playing the oboe, I may vary my lesson structure slightly in order to suit each individual student's needs best. Long tones and scales are the two things I still do every single day to this day, even after many years of playing the oboe professionally. They are the fundamental building blocks of tone, support and breathing and therefore need to be practiced regularly. This is why I always start my lessons with these, regardless of the student's level of playing. Sight-reading is a very useful tool to acquire, especially if you would like to play in ensembles. And as for etudes and pieces, I believe that technique and musicality go hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other in order to play music to a high level. Therefore I encourage all my students to practice both.
