Trusted teacher: Looking for a highly experienced tutor for Math A, Math B, or lower-level math? Then you've come to the right place! I'm a former economics teacher with a first-degree teaching qualification who, since 2021, has dedicated myself entirely to tutoring various subjects. I did this because it allows me to do what I love most: explaining material, building student confidence, and working together to improve grades. This way, I've helped around 200 students achieve passing grades or even pass exams in recent years! So, while I may be a former economics teacher, math is secretly my favorite subject! I love numbers and logical reasoning. I got a 9 for my final Math A grade in high school, and I always got 8s and 9s in math courses at university as well. So I can really help you with that. Maybe you'll even end up liking it as much as I do. ;-) The structure of the tutoring is always determined in consultation, but generally, I'm a big fan of starting on assignments as soon as possible. Why? Because then I can quickly see what you can already do and what you're still struggling with. I help with that. This way, I avoid unnecessary explanations of things you already know. Moreover, you can then immediately apply the explanations you do need to an assignment. This way, the material sticks much better. By the way, if you prefer tutoring at home, but I live too far away, consider trying online tutoring. I'm very experienced in that. I always give online tutoring via Google Meet, using a digital whiteboard where I can draw, color, paste, and type. This way, I can explain/demonstrate everything perfectly. I then share everything I've written on the whiteboard with you via WhatsApp so you can review all the explanations and solutions at your leisure after the lesson. Super convenient! Finally, if I had to describe myself in a few words, they would be: knowledgeable, calm, reliable, approachable, committed and tidy.

Steven - Heidelberg$25
Trusted teacher: I am 22 years old from Indonesia, and I am currently studying theoretical physics for my Master's degree at Heidelberg University. I speak (almost) fluent English, but unfortunately not German at the moment (although I am learning :D). Therefore, I will only be able to tutor in English (it could be a great idea for students who want to practice English themselves). I will be understanding in the fact that the language is not the mother tongue of the student's, so don't be shy :) As someone who is passionate about physics, I can help students to discover the fun in learning physics, that it's definitely not about memorizing the formula. During the lesson, my first goal would be to help students understand the concepts of the topic they are studying. In my attempt to do so, I will try my best to explain the concepts in the most intuitive way possible so that students can easily grasp them. After having understood the concepts, I will guide them on how think about it mathematically, hence arriving at some formulas. Therefore, they will not view the mathematical formulas in physics as simply some maths equation, but rather as something that represents meaning. Then the next obvious steps after this would be to discuss exercise problems, which will further enhance their understanding. But of course the lessons need not follow exactly the above mentioned steps; it can be very flexible and we will find the best method to help the students thrive on the subject. As a student who studies theoretical physics in the Masters level, I have dealt with some quite advanced level of mathematics, and in the process have picked up several neat tricks. Therefore I am also able to help students who are struggling in mathematics.

Sobia - The Hague$65
Trusted teacher: I offer comprehensive Maths lessons, and since 2018, I have been tutoring 20/40 students on a weekly basis. Additionally, I have been teaching Maths at the International School of The Hague since 2019. In 2022, I established my tutoring academy (Thehaguemaths), where I provide both group classes and personalized 1-on-1 lessons. Throughout my academic journey, I have devoted a significant amount of time to assisting fellow students and children (up to Graduate level) in mastering both basic and advanced mathematics as well as physics. My tutoring experience includes working with students from the International School of The Hague and the British school, covering various curricula like IB, EB, British (GCSE, O-level, A-level). My educational background consists of a BSc degree in double Maths and Physics, and I hold an MSc in Mathematics with an impressive CGPA of 3.91 out of 4.0. Following my studies, I briefly ran a tutoring academy before relocating to The Netherlands. In my teaching approach, I don't follow standard programs or lessons. Instead, I tailor each lesson to cater to the individual needs and interests of my students. If necessary, I provide exercises for practice at home and offer supplementary notes related to the lesson. My main focus is to instill confidence in my students, showing them that they are capable of solving problems and making the learning process enjoyable and engaging. I believe that when students see the fun and rewarding aspects of mathematics, they become more motivated to excel in their studies.

Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Zeynep! I am a mathematician with a doctoral degree. After completing my postdoc, I am currently focused on acquiring new skills while continuing to teach. Teaching has always been my passion throughout my academic career. I have 16 years of experience, starting with private tutoring for school children during my undergraduate studies and eventually teaching at the university level to a diverse range of students. I am capable of teaching at all levels, from elementary concepts to specialized topics. In Turkey, I guided many high school students through their International Baccalaureate (IB) programs, helping them gain admission to highly prestigious universities in the UK, Italy, and Switzerland. Some of these students later became colleagues, pursuing academic careers themselves—a gratifying experience! I currently work in the Netherlands with students from various backgrounds, including HAVO students who follow the Dutch curriculum, international students enrolled in the IB program, and high school or bachelor's students from around the globe, all engaging in remote learning. I am also learning Dutch and am currently at an A2 to B1 level. I teach in English while incorporating Dutch terminology to enhance clarity. My experience has shown that the language barrier can easily be overcome when it comes to math. For example, I recently helped a student improve their grade from 5.8 to an impressive 8.4 in just five months. At the higher education level, I have taught several calculus courses (both single and multivariable) and linear algebra for students in engineering, natural sciences (biology, physics), computer science, and administrative sciences. Additionally, I have taught more theoretical courses for mathematics students, such as set theory, real analysis, linear algebra, and number theory. My approach is customized to meet your specific needs while ensuring you fully understand the concepts, methods, and reasoning involved. Together, we will work on improving your ability to identify logical patterns and find solutions within the framework of your curriculum. I am here to support you in achieving your academic goals, whether it is for assignments, tests, or presentations. Feel free to contact me for a meeting if you are seeking assistance with your math learning. Let's see if we can find a good match!

After many months of lessons I can say that Sobia has excellent experience in teaching & tutoring and above all has a human approach to tutoring my daughter which I think is very important. She understands that the tutoring is as much about rebuilding my daughter’s confidence, as it is about teaching her how to do math. She is also punctual, capable and reliable. And the proof of the pudding is in the eating, my daughter’s Math scores have significantly improved over the months, she is now much more comfortable with the subject and able do the work, no more panic and tears!! These things take time, it’s not overnight, but Sobia was there for my daughter and made it happen. We are so grateful!!

He is a great instructor, I have already had a few lessons and will continue to have lessons with him weekly. He explains everything in a way that is easy to understand and he gives you actual exercises that you can use in real life when it comes to programming. I highly recommend hiring him.
