Trusted teacher: I am an Italian native speaker and I am fluent in English, having lived a decade in a few different places in the UK. Furthermore I speak Spanish to a beginner-to-intermediate level. I’ve got two passions in life: music and cultures and they both relate to languages. Music is known to be a universal language and different cultures connect with, and influence each other, through the use of spoken language. My formal education lays in music, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow, and a five-year diploma as a Jazz bass player from the Civica Scuola di Musica Claudio Abbado in Milan. I’ve been teaching music for fifteen years and during the last one I've decided to expand over to languages, by taking up the challenge to combine my passion for teaching with the love for languages. I’ve developed the latter during my many years abroad, where I shared my everyday life with people from all over te world. My method is essentially based on grammar and conversation, alternating the two based on the student’s level of fluency. Once the basics are mastered I focus on conversation, especially providing thorough explanation about typical words and expressions and their various acceptations within different contexts. At times I may also add the odd etymology side note when relevant. I also like to use readings upon subjects that are of the student’s interest, as this aids in nurturing their motivation. Given the transformative and fluid nature of speech, my aim is to deliver an organic learning experience, able to be put to fruition from the start and in everyday life, but that also won’t fail to address the differences between formal and informal interactions. Hence, avoiding inhibit a swift communication in favour of grammatical accuracy. A second level of my teaching focuses on expanding the student's writing skills and this is aimed to individuals who may have achieved a solid grasp of the basis and a wider knowledge on vocabulary. This is because writing is an art on its own and its objective is to convey one's true thoughts and feelings, therefore it requires a dedicated effort. I offer courses at all levels (beginner, advanced to university level) as well as English courses for IELTS/TOEFL, A-LEVELS or correction of written works. I have worked with children as well as teenagers and adults. My 3 years of experience as a teacher in England have helped me to develop the qualities necessary to motivate my students and teach them effectively. My 3 children studied with Daniela for the whole year, and it was a great pleasure! Although my kids' english was not very much advanced and that presented issues while studying science, Daniela was able to give necessary explanations, accommodate to their level and uplift knowledge. From the beginning of the year when each science topic was a struggle, we are ending the year with solid understanding of the school program and ability to participate in the class work. Florie is a delight to talk to! I am taking a French conversation class with her at the moment--I am a level B1-B2. She is sincere, thoughtful, funny and "sympa", and above all, she is great at conversation. She can adapt to your personal interests and will swerve the conversation in a way that allows you to talk as much as you can without tiring you. When you run out of things to say, she'll come up with topics and questions to keep the conversation going. Definitely recommend her!

Excellent Teacher! Paula is really a fabulous teacher. She explains everything so simply and also lets me know the difference between a natural way of talking and a more formal way of writing. She's happy to go with the flow and work on what I need rather than follow a very strict, inflexible class structure. This creates a more organic class which suits me. It's clear she's passionate about making engaging and fun classes, where I'm learning exactly what I need. I throughly recommend!
