Trusted teacher: 🧪 IB Chemistry Apprentice Lesson Plan Topic: The Electromagnetic Spectrum Level: IB Year 1 (Apprentice) Duration: 60 minutes Lesson Objectives By the end of this lesson, students should be able to: ‣ Describe the electromagnetic spectrum and identify its different regions. ‣ Understand and apply the equation c = fλ. ‣ Differentiate between a continuous spectrum and a line spectrum. ‣ Explain the concept of quantized energy in atoms. Lesson Outline Introduction (0–5 minutes) Start the lesson by asking students a few engaging questions: What are some examples of invisible light or radiation around us? Why do we wear sunscreen? Allow brief responses, then explain that all of these examples are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which we will study today. Teaching Phase 1 – Overview of the Electromagnetic Spectrum (5–15 minutes) Introduce the electromagnetic spectrum. Explain that it is a range of all electromagnetic waves, which vary by frequency and wavelength. Emphasize that all electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed in a vacuum – the speed of light, c = 3.00 × 108 m/s. Key formula to introduce: c = fλ, where: c = speed of light f = frequency (Hz) λ = wavelength (m) Point out that high-frequency waves have short wavelengths and higher energy (like gamma rays), while low-frequency waves have long wavelengths and lower energy (like radio waves). Display a spectrum diagram showing the range from radio to gamma rays, with visible light in the center. Teaching Phase 2 – Spectrum Types: Continuous vs. Line Spectrum (15–25 minutes) Explain the difference between continuous and line spectra. A continuous spectrum** contains all wavelengths in a range, like a rainbow produced when white light passes through a prism. A line spectrum** shows only specific wavelengths or frequencies. This happens when excited electrons fall back to lower energy levels and release photons of specific energies. Explain that energy is **quantized**—electrons cannot have just any amount of energy; only specific values are allowed. Use the helium line spectrum image as an example. Real-World Examples and Class Discussion (35–45 minutes) Give students three practical examples and discuss their uses: 1. Microwaves – Used in cooking and communications. 2. Ultraviolet (UV) rays – Cause sunburn; used in sterilizing equipment. 3. Gamma rays– Used in cancer treatment and in detecting radioactive materials. Ask students: Where do you see or use electromagnetic waves in your daily life? Encourage short contributions to reinforce understanding. Student Exercises (45–55 minutes) Have students complete these three questions individually: 1. A wave has a frequency of 6.0 × 1014 Hz. Calculate its wavelength using c = 3.00 × 108 m/s. 2. Explain the difference between a continuous and line spectrum, with an example of each. 3. Why are gamma rays more dangerous to humans than radio waves? Wrap-Up and Recap (55–60 minutes) Call on a few students to briefly summarize one key thing they learned.

Trusted teacher: In order to enrich his emotional skills, it will be a question of making your emotion the ally of your professional efficiency and / or your personal harmony. Emotions punctuate your life, they intervene in a more or less conscious way and have a considerable influence on your well-being and your performance at work. How to recognize them, decipher them and make them your allies? How to face the emotions of others, anticipate their reaction and keep a step back? How to better manage unforeseen situations and tensions? These workshops allow you to learn to listen and tame emotions to improve your personal / professional relationships and strengthen your efficiency at work. The objectives are clear, with always practical applications: - Discover your own emotional process to understand the role and impact of emotions - Analyze its operations and implement personal strategies to channel them - Develop your emotional awareness to be in touch with your values - Strengthen one's balance / harmony, self-confidence as well as the best discovery & mastery of one's own resources / skills / potential as well as new tools - Overcome your fears and blockages to be able to move forward and serenely. - Reduce psychological (stress, anxiety, concentration ...) & psycho-somatic manifestations - Optimization of the emotional process & the concept of emotional intelligence - Make your sensitivity & possible hypersensitivity a strength Indeed, the sensitive & hypersensitive represent a small part of the population and are able to perceive what others do not feel, which is hidden but try to conform to what is expected of them and of them. '' be able to live in community. After a suitable accompaniment, a hypersensitive can learn to tame his innate capacities and to create harmony in his own existence. What happens during a session ? After having defined together one or more global objectives based on your initial problem, each session takes place in two stages. 1) Browse, analyze & dissect together the reflections, thoughts and notes taken during the week and related to your emotions: actions taken based on the suggestions of the previous week; thoughts; feelings: what worked or not / corresponded or not to your expectations. It is also an opportunity to get to know you better in order to better define / define / identify and then solve together the challenges / emotional blockages of the moment. 2) Based on the conclusions of the first part, a proposal of two to three sub-issues of the day to be dealt with during the session (sub-issues built from your initial issue): to answer them, for each of them 'between them, a series of ten to fifteen pragmatic reflections / actions will be proposed to you. Three possible answers: - "I have already tried this solution but it does not suit me" or "I do not really believe it": we go to the next suggestion - “Never tried” or “why not”, “I'll think about it”: we set ourselves the goal of trying as soon as the opportunity arises, by the next session Concretely, a session = a reflection but above all A SESSION = SOLUTIONS / proposals / concrete suggestions to put into practice for the following session in order to overcome its blockages. According to the defined objective, it is a question of identifying & resolving the impact of emotions and their bad channeling not only on his communication but especially on his daily life. Trusted teacher: Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student. My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

Trusted teacher: Lessons for all ages. Harp, piano, music theory. I graduated from the KMC Gent and have a career/experience of more than 40 years. I also followed yoga, mindfulness and kinesiology courses. The combination of playing an instrument with mindfulness opens up many possibilities. During the lessons for harp or piano you learn the necessary technique, and musicality is taken into account. The better the technical skill, the more fluidly the musicality can unfold. No previous knowledge of ear training is required for the instrument. Gradually you learn to read the notes. For those who wish, I give AMV (General Musical Education) Here you practice extra on reading, rhythm, general & specific hearing exercises, and theoretical knowledge. Those who are going to higher music studies and experience a gap in music theory can come to me for specific training. I also guide students for solfège who are taking their entrance exam for KMC and also during their student trajectory. Here is more explanation. The lessons are individual and adapted to each student. For toddlers aged 4 to 6 who are learning to play the piano, I follow a method based on a musical fairy tale. It is a method that meets the child's world of experience. They discover the possibilities of the instrument and the way of writing songs. Step by step they learn to play and sing songs on the piano. For harp I can advise to start at 6 years. Fingers at 4 years are still too tender to pluck strings. 6 years is a better age to start harp playing. They play on a small instrument that is appropriate for their age. For children who start from the age of 7, I use a different method book for piano and the child's world of experience is also taken into account. For children who start playing the harp at that age, the method book is also aimed at the child. The method books are therefore tailored to the age and capabilities of the child, teenagers and adults. For students at the college who are going to study music professionally, the subject 'music theory' is included in the curriculum. In case of shortcomings in music theory, the specific needs are updated. Both theory, lecture in G and F clef, performance of rhythm in all time signatures, rhythm dictation, intonation training, intonation dictation, recognition of intervals melodic and harmonic, rhythmic-melodic dictation can be updated to make up for deficiencies. I can guide students in music as a hobby, as well as in music professionally.

I have been learning with Anne for almost 8 months now. I cannot even begin to thank Anne for her amazing teaching skills and how much she has helped me. I have struggled with French for years and I finally found a teacher who both pushed me but is also patient and accommodating to my needs. I was also hesitant at first to have an online teacher, but her teaching methods and skills actually made it easier that she was online, also in terms of managing my time and schedule with her, I did not feel that anything hindered my progress having her online. Her great personality and experience as a teacher overall further helped with my fear and difficulty in learning French, and having her as an online teacher. And finally, she has a great teaching structure and a curriculum and material (which was important for me) to provide for the student through structured classes, while taking into account the strengths and weaknesses of the student. Thank you very much Anne for everything.

Mathieu is an exceptional French teacher who truly understands his students' needs. He personalizes each class, tailoring the lessons to suit my goals and challenges. Although I studied French in secondary school and high school, I had forgotten much of it. Now, living in France and needing the language for professional purposes, I couldn't have found a better teacher. Mathieu quickly grasped my struggles and explains everything in a way that's clear and easy to follow. Thanks to his teaching, I already feel significant progress in both my confidence and skills. I highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their French, whether for personal or professional reasons!

Volodymyr

Volodymyr worked with my son for 2 months after he failed an oberstufe year 7 schularbeit, and by the next exam he got a 3 (only 2 points from a 2!). Volodymyr has continued to work with him over the summer, and my son feels so much more prepared for year 8 and the matura. My son enjoys working with Volodymyr--he is kind, positive, and supportive. He is comfortable teaching matura-level math, and does so with great clarity. My son is a native English speaker, so they mostly use English, but the first lessons they did in German, and Volodymyr works easily in either language. I highly recommend Volodymyr!
