Kinderen van 3 tot 7 jaar zijn van harte welkom bij onze muziek groepslessen.
Ons programma is gebaseerd op algemene muzikale vorming, met als missie om de ontwikkeling van kinderen te ondersteunen, teamwork, creativiteit en respect voor elkaar te bevorderen. Kinderen leren elementaire muzikale onderdelen, vocale techniek en experimenteren met instrumenten zoals de ukulele, gitaar, piano en fluit.

MKA Music is een muziekschool gevestigd in Rotterdam.
Bij onze school kan je volgen:

Piano performance & Music therapy
Hello! My name is Celia. I’m from Spain and I’m currently studying Music Therapy at the Rotterdam conservatory.
I recently become a Music Therapy intern at Florence, The Hague.
I obtained my bachelor diploma in piano performance in 2016.
I have performed concerts as a soloist, in duet with other pianists and in bigger ensembles/orchestras.
Since I moved to the Netherlands, I’m also part of a music trio where we perform pop, jazz, arrangements and compositions from our singer. All these experiences together give me for sure a big capacity of working repertoire and understand the different needs of my students as a teacher! 🙂
As I’m in education as a therapist, I also use all my knowledge in combination with Music Therapy skills with all my students and especially with people who demand a different experience during a music lesson.
Music Therapy techniques allow you to play music without any knowledge of theory, so it’s very useful when in the middle of the lesson you need a break or when you just need to connect with yourself, for example. Music Therapy triggers your curiosity 😉

Learn & explore
During more than 10 years of experience as a teacher, I have worked all kind of people: children, adults, people with disabilities, families... I’m quite flexible and able to adapt my way of teaching to the circumstances!
I like to work individually and in groups. Each way has its own advantages!
In my lessons I use all methods I could experiment myself among my piano career; I’m also always open for new knowledge, repertoire and ways of working what my students may propose me. It’s fascinating how I never stop learning new repertoire and music styles thanks to my students!
I try to offer music in a different way for every student according to their needs, with creativity and a relaxed ambience where the student can learn and explore. Each person has his/her own rhythm... which in my opinion is very important to respect.
I also work with music theory, explaining concepts to my students from the pieces we play. I find this way is effective, instructive and much more motivating 🙂
In my lessons, we can work on classical, jazz, pop, arrangements, 4-hands piano music, improvisation and much more!

Happiness
Music needs a bit of commitment. It’s like a plant: a bit of water every day is much better than a lot of water just one day per week! However, every plant is different, and in the end, the important thing is that you feel happy and motivated during your learning process. This is also important for me, so for sure I always try my best to help my students in that aspect. The enjoyment of music (and everything) makes you learn much faster, don’t you think?

My name is Luisa. I'm from Spain and I am studying a Master's degree in classical music at Codarts.

I studied the bachelor in Madrid and then I came here to do the Master last year. At the same time that I was studying I started teaching, this was a revelation for me, I love and enjoy to teach and share what I know about music. So if you want to learn and enjoy this beautiful instrument, I will be happy to help you!

I have experience with both children and adults. I use methods from different pedagogies in my lessons, combining them in a different way for every student according to their neccesities and always with creativity.

Beste muziekliefhebbers,

Ik ben een professionele viool- en altviolist die lesgeeft aan studenten van alle leeftijden en niveaus.
Tijdens mijn muzikale opleiding kreeg ik de kans om aan verschillende conservatoria in Spanje, Italië, België, Nederland en Zwitserland te studeren, waardoor bij mij een passie ontstond voor het lesgeven van viool en altviool en zo begon met het geven van privélessen en het coachen van jeugdorkesten.

In mijn lessen help ik de student om plezier te hebben tijdens het spelen en om zich gelukkig te voelen met hun instrument om zo verbinding te maken met hun muzikale verbeelding.
Gezien het niveau en de leeftijd, zullen verschillende methoden en oefeningen de les structureren om goede auditieve vaardigheden, ritmegevoel en een optimale lichaamshouding te krijgen.

I am an italian bass player, I'm 25 years old and actually I am finishing the last year of my bachelor in jazz music at Codarts. If you're a beginner i will teach you the basics of the instrument and the basics of musical theory (wich is essential to be a good bass player). We will also dive into various musical genres, trying to have a complete approach to music as possible. If you already play bass and want to improve your skills or your knowledge of musical theory i will teach you some advanced techniques and focus on advanced harmony and studies for improvisation. We will also work on finding your own voice on the instrument and learning how to create original basslines

I really believe that studying the violin has the power to stimulate the intellect, enhance creativity and let us enjoy music, not only by listening, but also by producing it! I am Julia, a classical violin player. I studied at Codarts university in Rotterdam and played in an Orchestral Academy for a year in Spain. I discovered I enjoy teching very much while following a minor in education during my bachelor. Throughout the course I learned pedagogy, didactics and methodology, and worked with students of different ages and levels of experience. I love teaching because it allows me to share my knowledge and challenges me to be more imaginative and flexible.

The lessons are tailor-made. This means that the goals are going to be adapted to YOUR wishes taking in account previous experience, expectations and musical taste. Even though I have a classical training, I am open to work with different styles. I teach children from 5 years old onwards and adults.

Hallo! Mijn naam is Yorgos en ik ben gitarist en docent. Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit Griekenland, ben ik voor mijn muzikale reis naar Nederland gekomen vanwege de grote muziekscene. De afgelopen elf jaar heb ik mijn muzikale carrière in Rotterdam voortgezet en lesgegeven in verschillende muziekstijlen en leeftijden.

Op veertienjarige leeftijd pakte ik een gitaar op en twee decennia later voelt het als een verlengstuk van mijn ziel. Met meer dan twintig jaar ervaring in het tokkelen en vormgeven van melodieën, heb ik elf van die jaren mijn passie gedeeld als privéleraar en artiest. Mijn muzikale reis heeft ertoe geleid dat ik les heb gegeven aan een breed scala aan studenten, van zevenjarigen tot volwassenen, die alles behandelen van pop en blues tot de soulvolle diepten van rock, jazz, funk en folk.
Tijdens mijn studie aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium leerde ik de basisprincipes van het Kodály solmisatiesysteem en gaf ik ensemblelessen aan de International School of The Hague. Verder kreeg ik de kans om mijn kennis van muziektheorie te ontwikkelen en deed ik ervaring op met ritmische en melodische solfège en prima-bladmuziek.

Dit zijn onderwerpen die ik altijd graag in mijn lessen bespreek, omdat ik ze niet alleen belangrijk vind voor de persoonlijke ontwikkeling van de muzikant, maar ook voor de diepere band die ze creëren tussen de muzikant en het instrument.
Hoewel ik graag alle hierboven genoemde elementen in mijn lessen verwerk, richt ik mij vooral op het afstemmen van de lessen op de behoeften van elke leerling en help ik waar ik kan bij het ontwikkelen van hun muzikale nieuwsgierigheid.
Ik kijk ernaar uit om van je te horen en samen met jou de enorme en prachtige wereld van muziek te ontdekken!

My name is Abraham, and I’m a third year jazz piano student at Codarts Rotterdam. I have been playing for 14 years, most of which were spent in classical music. I teach all levels and styles (classical, pop, jazz, etc.). It can be with or without theory, depending on what you prefer. The duration of the lessons is flexible and three locations are possible (apart from your house, if you prefer that): Kruisplein, 3012 CC, Willem Buytewechstraat, 3024 BP, or Essenburgsingel, 3022 EM.
