Greek is a language spoken by 12 million people online. It has a long history spanning through 34 centuries of continued use and it had influenced many other languages in Europe.

I'm an experienced Greek teacher who lives in the Netherlands and had taught many foreign people learn Greek. I'm a native Greek speaker and a licensed teacher in two countries (in Greece and in the Netherlands). Whether for a career opportunity, love, interest in the Greek culture or another reason, you will learn to use modern Greek in a variety of settings.

Learning Greek on your own can be frustrating as there aren't many resources available online. I use a method as a guideline but I always bring authentic material in the classroom to make my courses engaging and to showcase the interplays between language and culture.

Ancient Greek is one of the oldest languages in the world. A multitude of literary and philosophical texts have been written in this language. Later, Latin will take up many elements of the heritage of ancient Greek. Today, about 10% of the words in the French language have an ancient Greek origin. Our educational exchange aims to understand ancient Greek culture and Western European culture in general. Although it is a dead language, ancient Greek can instill values in us, broaden our horizons and even help us understand French better. At first we will study the alphabet and the general rules of word formation. I understand how many students think and why they get stuck, while teachers often struggle with this.
I can therefore convey complex material in a personal way, using examples, visualizations, comparisons, etc.

I often hear after an explanation:
- Oooooh, now I get it!
- Why doesn't the teacher just say this?
- That actually makes sense, yes...

My way of teaching is purely aimed at helping with things that are difficult or unclear.
We sit down and I ask, "What do you need to know for the test?" Then I'm assigned a few theory blocks, and we quickly figure out where things are going wrong, and I make sure it's clear.

A lesson usually lasts until all the material is understood. If that's too much, we usually stop after 1 or 1.5 hours, or when we run out of energy.
