Hello, I specialise in tutoring for the 11+,13+ and SATs. I passed all exams and now I am in a top-achieving grammar school. I can help tell you what to look for and what not to. My goal is to keep students challenged but not overwhelmed, I believe that my lessons are fun but challenging. On the first week, we will be starting with Non-Verbal Reasoning and in the second lesson, we will do a recap. We will be doing that series for at least 5 weeks, and we will do a recap exam of all the Non-Verbal learnt to see how much you have learnt. We will do the same for Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning.

About Me
Hello, I am an aspiring tutor. I wish during this quarantine, I help others achieve their goals, through learning. I would be happy to help and cater to your needs, or what you specifically want to learn. I teach SATS, 11+ and 13+. I also teach English to primary students! My aim or each lesson is to get the students engaged and to have fun learning. I am very firm but fair with my students.
Education
I am a Year 11 student in a high achieving grammar school: Newstead Wood. I have experience of teaching student before, enrolling in my school study plan and teaching others before applying to this.
Experience / Qualifications
I have written a segment in a book, passed all my 11+ , SATs and 13+ with flying colours. I was so good, I did the 11+ in Year 5 and passed. Unfortunately, due to my age, the council said I was not allowed to join the school.

Can learning English be fun, insightful, productive and effective at the same time? I believe so!

Whatever your background or profession, deciding to learn a foreign language is a great way to add another dimension to your life and make your mind work in a new way. You become a (slightly) different person, since along with a new language, one learns to look at the world in a slightly different way. This is why my approach to teaching English is not only aimed at laying or strengthening the foundational knowledge - grammar, speaking, writing and listening skills, but also at introducing students to the culture of the English-speaking population. We will find out what English speakers find funny, what drives them to tears, what makes them feel proud and what they get embarrassed about.

Open to students of all levels, my course usually is taught online, using a variety of visual aids and a wide range of material, from textbooks to YouTube videos. In teaching advanced learners, I often refer to pieces of literature such as novels and poems, since they easily spark discussions, which in turn improves the students' grasp and feel of the language. In doing so, I take students beyond ordinary textbooks and grammar books, since they are no more than guides to learning, not absolute authorities, and because to me language is a living, constantly evolving matter, which you must submerge yourself into in order to understand.

In addition to my unorthodox approach, what sets me apart is a collection of unique, language-related experiences, which translate into a good ability to understand nuances of the English language. A native Russian speaker, I have lived in the UK for over 5 years, went to a Scottish boarding school and have even completed a university degree in English. Thanks to my linguistic and cultural competency, I will make sure that you are never lost in translation! Are you interested? Then contact me today!

What I offer:

A Level: Biology
GCSE: Maths, English, Science
KS3: Maths, English, Science
11+: Maths, English, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning
KS2: Maths, English, Science
KS1: Maths, English, Science

I am a qualified teacher (DBS checked) and have over 4000 hours of tutoring experience, with students ranging from 4-18 years old.

On top of that, I also helped my brother gain entry into Cambridge University for Economics and have seen countless other students succeed under my mentorship. This is because I recognise that there is a process and that if students follow that process, they are guaranteed to succeed.

I try my best to make learning enjoyable for students but I also have high expectations as I believe every student has it in them to achieve the top grades.

I provide homework for each and every lesson. If students struggle with it, they come to me the following lesson and we go through the mistakes. I teach them the techniques to combat their weaknesses and this ensures they are ironed out, guaranteeing improvement. Students can also bring me work they are struggling with independently.

All the students that have come to me have improved and rapidly.

Testimonials:

'He helped my daughter get into Forest School. The homework and regular advice really made all the difference. We cannot thank him enough.' - Mr. Atwal

'Starting with him was the best decision I made for my son's education. He did so much better in his GCSEs than we expected. He was on track for Ds and Es and managed to get nearly all A*-B! Imagine what Umar could've achieved if we'd found him earlier!' - Mrs. Ahmed

'Vinay helped me so much with A Level Biology. I got an A (very nearly an A*) and am now studying Dentistry at university.' - Raman
