My name is Tiago. I am from Portugal and started playing cello when I was 9 years old.
After studying music in high school, I came to the Netherlands for my bachelor's.
Graduated in 2025 in the class of Michel Strauss and Jan-Ype Nota, with success.
Starting my Master's in September 2025.

I have experience teaching all age groups.
I guide my lessons according to the needs of the pupil, using my knowledge on repertoire and technique.
Experience on Teenagers behaviour and how to bring motivation to the lessons.

My name is Carla Peña and I come from Barcelona. Since I was a child, music has played an important role in my life. I started learning music when I was 4 years old and cello when at the age of 6. I discovered my love for music and that is what I share with my students.
I have around 15 pupils of all levels and ages and I teach at my own studio (De Constant Rebecquestraat 3) or at your place!
If you are in The Hague area and you want to learn the cello or improve your playing, you are welcome to do lessons with me!

FIRST LESSON:
The first lesson consists of getting to know each other. This is essential to choose the best teaching approach. All the students are unique, that is why I always choose the method that adapts better to your needs. Then, we elaborate a personal plan, depending on your level, expectations, practice time, and taste.

TECHNIQUE:
Learning the proper technique of the instrument is very important to avoid injuries and to be able to express ourselves and perform our musical ideas in a successful way. That is why we learn nice songs in different styles, depending on your taste (from classical to jazz, film music, pop, etc.) and we combine it with cello method books with progressive exercises to improve the cello knowledge.
In the case of young beginners, we also play cello games during the lesson to make the learning experience dynamic and fun! Children can lose attention and get bored very quickly!

Playing together is an essential part of enjoying music. Therefore, the last part of the lesson always consists of playing cello duets and having fun!

ABOUT ME:

I studied my Bachelor in Conservatori Superior del Liceu in Barcelona, with professor Amparo Lacruz. Then, I decided to continue my studies at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague in the class of Michel Strauss and Jan-Ype Nota.
During my studies in The Hague, I did a teaching internship at the Royal Conservatory as a part of their Minor in Music Education. I also taught in several Music Schools during my studies in Spain.
Currently, I teach private students in The Hague and I created a cultural center in The Hague called Pandora Studio.
I play regularly in two chamber music ensembles: Trio Jakob and Azalaïs Quartet.

It is beautiful to be able to play a musical instrument. However, when looking to learn the cello, one needs regular accompaniment. Either if you want to engage in a hobby or if you want to learn and develop your skills in a more serious way, I will adapt your lessons to your ambitions and desires towards your cello lessons. The duration of our lessons can be flexible according to the necessity or possibility of the student.

Other artistic situations can be offered depending on what you show through the lessons, as the participation in cello ensembles, preparation for competitions (for students who will take the cello further in their studies), preparation for other exams that the student may want to apply to out-side our lessons, as others which may be proposed by the student him-self.

There is also the opportunity to improve and practice your English, Portuguese, Spanish or Czech since these are the languages in which I can teach, according to the students preference.

The most important thing is that you love music so that we can make some together!!

Cello lessons for everyone

Cello lessons for everyone! From beginning to advanced (pre-conservatory level) cellists. Online and live lessons possible. If needed, I also help with understanding sheet music and music theory. For each student I offer a specific lesson format that is suitable for her/him. I can give lessons in classical music, but also in more modern music or improvisation.

About me: I'm Nil! I am 25, from Barcelona (Spain). I obtained my bachelor's degree in performance and music pedagogy at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, Groningen. Now I have graduated from the Master's in Classical Music at the Royal Conservatoire (The Hague). During my studies I also gained experience with professional orchestras (Residence Orkest and Noord Nederlands Orkest) and I played in semi-professional and amateur orchestras (as a soloist). During my master's degree I did a Master's in Research in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming). I started teaching when I was 18 and then continued teaching. Lessons can be in English, Dutch, Spanish or Catalan.

I'm offering productive music lessons in a friendly environment.
I'll guide your development from any level. I treat every student as an individual, and I adapt my approach accordingly - whether making music is your hobby or you have rather serious plans with it.

Depending on what you aim for, I'll choose nice pieces/songs and interesting exercises. I always care about leaving my students with the necessary tools for practice on their own when I'm not around to guide them.
You'll learn a stable intonation, and develop your rhythmical sense, musical interpretation, good posture, and apparatus that works for you individually. Together we can go not only for classical but also pop, rock or film music. What you might also enjoy during the lesson is playing together in a duo with me - so you can experience making music with another person, which is super fun!

There is many fantastic advantages to learning music, such as the growth of your musical taste and artistic sensitivity, and as even science proves - enhancement of your brain capacity.
But learning the cello or piano - the instruments that everyone wants to play ♡ - will truly inspire you by its unique sound.

Are you looking for cello lessons? I have been giving cello lessons to all ages and levels for 10 years now. The cello is an extremely versatile instrument and therefore never gets boring, even after years of study there is still so much to discover!

I also teach Baroque music for more advanced students. In these lessons I will go into the regional technique, the basso continuo playing, ornamentation, etc. This can be done on a modern cello as well as on a baroque cello.

I also regularly coach ensembles (early and classical music). I then pay a lot of attention to the function of each voice and the creation of an ensemble sound.

Hi !

I am Héloïse, a french cellist and singer who lives in The Netherlands since two years. I finished to study at HKU Utrecht Conservatorium in june and am now a professional musician and, among other a cello teacher at the Lindenberg Center in Nijmegen.

After teaching music theory for two years in a french conservatory, I realised how much teaching is very important for me and helps me to grow as a musician. I like to adapt to the student and try to find a solution in any pedagogical situation.
I can teach all cello and singing levels, and all ages. I can also give some music theory lessons.
