About Me

As a teacher, I believe in guiding students along the path they've chosen for themselves. My lessons are student-centered, focusing on their unique strengths and interests. I always aim to create an environment where we learn together, rather than me simply talking at them. Humor plays a big role in my teaching—I enjoy using jokes and lighthearted moments to make learning more enjoyable. For me, it's about connecting with my students, not just instructing them.

Throughout my educational journey, I've continually expanded my knowledge and skills in both teaching and economics. Currently, I'm pursuing a Masters in Educational Needs, with a focus on behavior and autism. This builds on my foundation in online teaching methods, tools, and platforms, such as LMS and Microsoft Teams, gained in recent years. My background includes a degree teaching qualification in Economics, as well as hands-on experience in project management through the Inter-American Development Bank. With a bachelor's in International Financial Management from Amsterdam, I blend a strong financial background with a passion for education and student development.

I use several methods which are specially conceived to teach Dutch to people who have a different mother tongue. I really like to use methods out of the ordinary like role games or methods with which you learn while playing. All these adapted to the student's situation of course. As I learned myself a couple of other languages, it is easy for me to detect difficulties a student can encounter and adapt the way of learning. I can teach in English, French, German and Russian.

Each class is tailored to the individual's requirements and/or needs. Want to improve career opportunities; learn or improve business Dutch, which will be the focus of each class.

For those already are familiar with Dutch; expanding existing knowledge together with a deeper cultural understanding and insight.

All students will be provided lesson schedules in advance for their review (time permitting).

The main focus is on total immersion in a fun and comprehensible way, without omitting important aspects such as grammar, etc.

Prepare in an efficient, intensive way for the ITNA (Interuniversity Language Test Dutch), based on tailor-made exercises.
We practice together on language in use, grammar and vocabulary, gap texts, structuring exercises, dictation, presentations and argumentation.

In our class we will be relaxed, I will help you with the Dutch conversation, the grammar, reading (like an article or a topic what I will give you). I will help students for beginners-lower-intermediate level. After every lesson I will give you homework for the next lesson. Teaching children is almost "an art" Not everyone is able to place him or herself in the mind of a child and that is just so important! I teach playfully and at the same time they learn without really realizing they are in a lesson! I do this with diverse lesson material such as pictures, video's, and we are also practicing songs together. I am a mathematics teacher and I offer additional hours for private tutoring in scientific disciplines. These courses are primarily aimed at middle and high school students in Geneva, whether they attend private or public schools, as well as adults who have passed this level but wish to refresh their knowledge for professional purposes.
Generally, I can begin tutoring within three days of your request. I travel throughout the canton of Geneva using the TPG public transport system, and travel expenses are included in my rates. For long-term support, I can also provide exercises to complete between sessions, which I will correct at home. I am fluent in English for English-speaking students. Understanding and patient Economics tutor

I’m a graduate in Accounting and Finance from the University Of Warwick with wide experience tutoring maths, economics and sciences, particularly physics. I have done both the old style exams and the new ones, which puts me in a good position to help all students and apply the best resources to their revision for their specific exam.

To me, defeating any tricky exam is a process of a few steps:

Know the facts. This is the first and most obvious step in doing well. Factual recall is the basis of getting good marks. This can often be difficult, but breaking it down into smaller chunks, and being "smart" about revision can make a topic list much more approachable!

Apply the understanding. This is particularly important in sciences and tricky maths! Practice makes perfect, but it has to be the right type! An understanding of where the marks are allocated can make this much easier.

Play the game? Exams to me represent not just a factual recall or knowledge application test, but a strategic challenge where tactics, organisation and creative, targeted revision are rewarded. Strategically approaching exams with an eye to exam technique and ‘playing the mark scheme’ has always helped me get the best results. Coursework can be a great way to make life easier when it comes to exams, if you`ve got it. A good coursework grade can give so much extra breathing room for the actual papers.

I have wide experience teaching GCSE maths, science and economics. At A level I can teach maths, economics and physics and beyond this, accounting, finance or economics. I have tutored students for 5 years through the national schools programme and through private/group lessons too. With over 1000 hours of lessons taught, I believe I can make a real difference to any student's learning.
