I absolutely love my profession! The very definition of what it means to be a literate person in our society is rapidly changing because of technology. I enjoy working to support students’ communication skills in the classroom, on paper, and online. I want to make reading and writing relevant to my students’ lives; this requires that I think bigger than simple pen and paper assignments. I can also describe myself as friendly, enthusiastic and respectful. As a teacher, we can easily get respect from the students if they would feel respected first. First, English is a language and not a basis of intelligence. We might be better than our students when it comes to speaking and understanding English but they might be more intelligent and talented than us. It just so happened that our country has been open to different dialects when it comes to learning.
