It is important for me to create a bond with the student so that my music lessons are joyful, fun moments, focusing my learning on positive reinforcement, encouraging, while being effective and serious ;) In piano, I was trained in classical music, but also in current music, pop, soul, etc. In singing, I am trained in jazz, but also in ESTILL technique (vocal coaching), current music and many others. After 10 years of experience in teaching singing and piano, my lessons are aimed at all levels and all ages (children, teenagers, adults). I started teaching at the age of 15, and I was immediately passionate about this wonderful profession. Teaching is about sharing, inspiring, training. It is about having the opportunity to transmit knowledge, values, and passions to all generations. For me, music is not just about learning; it is above all therapeutic. Teaching requires patience, empathy, a capacity for creation and renewal, as well as perpetual questioning; but which in return offers us an invaluable gift. The course is intended for anyone seriously interested in the functioning of the voice and its application in singing (support, power, vocal stability, timbre, etc.).

Inspired by the EVT (Estill Voice Training) method, a system that explains how the voice works and uses it to rehabilitate vocal disorders, strengthen public speakers and support high-level performers, my goal is to make the student more aware of their vocal instrument and more comfortable in their sound emission and singing.

We will begin by exploring the source of sound: our body. We will cover breathing and warm-up exercises, and focus on various sound emission techniques to improve voice quality and control.

My name is Carmen and I am an opera singer. I studied at the PI Chaykovsky Conservatory in Moscow and the famous Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome. I attended many masterclasses in Russia, Italy and Austria with Edda Moser, Renata Scotto, Nino Machaidze etc. I was also a soloist in the Vatican Choir.

In my teaching, I rely mostly on old traditional methods, books, and repertoire, which have proved their efficiency over the time. I also make use of the teaching tradition of partimenti of the old Neapolitan conservatories - exercises for composing that can be applied from early stage. This not only adds a creative element soon after very beginning, but also teaches via practice the basics of harmony and polyphony.
Lessons can be combined (+30min.) with theory/solfege (ear training), if the student wishes.

Noticing that a lot of violin players are unable to play music without scores I tend to work using more the ears instead of scores. Besides learning songs and improvisation in the musical genre that the student prefers, I also emphasize on technique and posture.
