As you may know Spanish makes part of the list of one of the most spoken languages in the whole world. Therefore, it will be eventually helpful for job applications, school courses, or as a cultural challenge.

The main objetives that I want to offer for my students are: 1. The ability to handle a a simple conversation. 2. Provide students with instructions that teaches a basic understanding of spanish culture, vocabulary and grammatical concepts.

Those objetives will be based on providing the student a general introduction which involves: sound system, pronunciation, functional vocabulary related to everyday life, cultural information and basic grammatical structures. Emphasis will be on the acquisition of four skills: listening, speaking, reading and limited writing.

I have worked for EF Education First in Costa Rica, this has made me learn a lot about the Latin American culture, and its derivation of Spanish, this makes me have more knowledge about Spanish and how to teach it.

Spanish is a beautiful language and is currently one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.

I am bilingual Dutch-English with a lot of speaking and writing experience, speak English daily with my Australian partner and enjoy passing on my knowledge to others. In addition, I have a lot of patience for people who have difficulties with different parts of English. I can offer help with sentence structure, grammar, pronunciation, reading skills and vocabulary practice, in order to give you or your child more certainty and guidance in the language.

With students I focus on the problem points that exist and I use the school method. If, for example, it appears that a solid foundation is still missing, I can jump in and offer support in learning this.

For (young) adults who are not (or no longer) in school, we will mainly focus on vocabulary, correct sentence structure and grammar in the beginners' lessons. However, I also quickly start speaking, reading and listening. With advanced students I focus on, among other things, speaking and listening skills and advanced word use by holding conversations together, watching documentaries and reading books.

For starting students I use the books of "English for Everyone" and expand my lessons myself with extra materials, such as tailor-made exercises.

Nothing else is required, and everything is possible in consultation.

Many English learners are eager to improve their vocabulary. This is good and should be encouraged. Unfortunately, this eagerness is usually driven by a common misconception that having a wide vocabulary translates to fluency. However, this isn't the case as an understanding of sentence structure, plays a greater part in being able to communicate effectively in English.

The ability to structure your sentences correctly entails knowing the different parts of speech and their placement within each sentence.

Every sentence in English includes words that fall into some or all of the different parts of speech and having a thorough grasp of this aspect of the language and how they're ordered (sentence structure), helps confer fluency.

As such, the focus of this class (which is in 3 lessons) will be on the different parts of speech found in the English language and their order within a sentence (Sentence Structure).

There are 9 parts of speech in English. Lesson 1 focuses on Nouns, Prepositions and Verbs in great detail. Lesson 2 deals with Articles, Adverbs and Adjectives in great detail while lesson 3 looks at Articles, Conjunctions and Interjections in great detail also.

The objective of this series of classes is to familiarize students with these concepts.

Please note that I teach a separate class (Part 2) that focuses on Auxiliary and Modal Verbs and it is advisable to complete all lessons under part 1 before proceeding to part 2 taking in order to achieve fluency.

So what should you expect from the class?

As always, my classes follow a specific format. In each class I explain concepts using different methods, provide numerous examples and check for student understanding. I also provide classroom exercises to further cement any newly acquired knowledge.
