BaşakTurkish Lessons (In-Person OR Online) for Adults and Kids from an Experienced and Patient Teacher For All Levels-Learn&Practice&Speak!
I have been teaching Turkish for 17 years. I started to teach when I was studying Turkish Language and Literature. I worked in a language school and at the universities, I suppose that I gained success. 😊 My achievements are directly proportional to my students’ success. My students are mostly teachers, consulate officers, international business people, and also travelers. I feel rewarded when I witness their progress in applying their Turkish language skills to their daily lives. Over the years, I have met hundreds of people from all over the world, taught Turkish, and told them about Istanbul and Turkey. Those people told me about their countries and learned to express themselves in Turkish. For example, I ask them: “Do you like Istanbul?” in Turkish it is “İstanbul’u surveyor museum?” or “ Traffic is very bad in Istanbul!”, “İstanbul’ da çok Trafik var!” The basic but correct conversation is really important for self-confidence in any language. If a learner can master basic sentence forms, the rest will come much easier. On the other hand, making mistakes is also very important. Especially, a learner can not speak without making a mistake the first and second time. My students are always varied and have diverse learning skills. My professionalism also allows me to tailor language education according to individual interests, needs, and capacities. In the classroom, I hold firm three main principles: first, providing a comfortable environment, second, creating an encouraging atmosphere, and third, establishing a collaborative instruction model. I consider that I developed an aptitude for making learning Turkish to become much easier, enjoyable, and practical for my students. I use a book prepared by a university in Turkey. I share the pdf version of the book for my lessons. I also adapt the materials according to the learner’s needs and support the book with my authentic materials. Even though I use a communicative approach, all my lessons are guided by a solid knowledge of grammar. On the online lessons, I send an e-mail after every lesson. That word file includes a vocabulary list, sentences (corrected and uncorrected versions, you can compare both of them easily), grammar point,s and homework for revision. In this way, you can find everything in a file well organized. When we have a face to face lesson, I give a hard copy of this list after every lesson. The lessons could be at my home office or in my student's house or office. I sometimes meet with my students in a coffee shop, I try to prefer silent places. :) How learning a new language opens a new window into a person, teaching Turkish is also the same for me! I was always interested in languages - I could speak a bit of Italian and learned Persian grammar except English. I always think about Istanbul -I was born and grew up here- it is a good place for self-improvement. First and foremost, Istanbul hosts international people coming from around the world. It is considering to me, I am lucky because I have one of the pleasant professions. When teaching Turkish, promoting cross-cultural awareness forms an important part of my lessons. Teaching the language involves both the students and myself in a dynamic conversation about our cultural backgrounds. Teaching Turkish is in fact not only teaching a language but also teaching a culture. I am interested in cinema, music and like visiting museums. I always share the activities with my students. I also teach Turkish to young learners. I started to study Child Development at Istanbul University as a second university in 2018. We say in Turkish, “Studies have no age!" If you want to speak Turkish well, please contact me. It is fun, and we will smile during the lesson!

BerinIMAT Preparation (Logical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Biology, Chemistry, Math and Physics) with Experienced Teacher
Hi everyone! I have been teaching private courses in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics for 9 years. It is my passion to prepare my students for the future with school and exam studies. When I won the Anatolian Teacher High School in Istanbul in 2008 and Boğaziçi University in 2012, my biggest goal was to be a reliable role model for my students in the future. I am very happy that I have now made this dream come true since the year I entered university. Until this time, I have taught private lessons at secondary, high school and university level to numerous students from Turkey and abroad. I still continue to give private lessons on the online platform and teach Physics at an International School in Istanbul where California Education Standards (Cognia) are adopted. It is my passion to prepare my students for the future with school and exam studies. I am currently teaching for SAT Exam Preparation. SAT Subject Tests includes Physics, Math, Chemistry and Biology. I can teach both IB and American Curriculum as well. I teach my lessons on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Google Classroom, depending on the student' request. Inquiry Based Learning which I have adopted as a teaching method; it enables me to teach lessons based on inquiry and always keeping the student & teacher dialogue dynamic. I strive to progress depending on the age and level of the student. For this, I aim to explain myself, the way I study and understand my student's expectations and level. After the level has been determined, it is of great importance for me that the student knows the lesson plan and draft as well and adheres to the jointly agreed schedule. I share pdfs and documents that I have prepared before the class and use the books by Pearson, Serway, Nowicki, Sarquis and so on for University & Secondary School Level. For Middle School, I use HMH Science Modules etc. I do emphasize the importance on giving homework/assignment and return as giving ''feedforwards'' for my students. As someone in love with her job, it is my greatest motivation to direct the students to professions they can do with love. In this course, you will be able to learn following contents: Section 1: Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge Generic skills in problem solving, understanding argument, data analysis and inference; general knowledge. - 22 questions Section 2, 3 and 4: Scientific Knowledge The ability to apply scientific knowledge from school science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. - 38 questions
JulienPrivate Lessons, Tutoring - Mathematics and Science
Dear Parents, You came here to seek help for your child and you did well. Publics schools are essential for our education, but they sometimes lacks the necessary resources to take care of each student individually. I had quite a difficult schooling myself for this very reason. My struggles were no greater than anyone else's, but the schedule was too rigid for me to thrive freely. Thanks to the support of my parents however, I was fortunate enough to benefit from the help of a private school and I was thus able to fulfill my childhood dream of becoming a chemist. I am now a chemist who graduated from EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology) and on April 11, 2019, I was defending a doctoral thesis in experimental physics at the University of Geneva (UNIGE). All this knowledge, however, is only useful if one knows how to communicate it properly. As you know, this is an essential aspect of teaching. There are boring teachers and there are others whose passion is contagious. I often find that teachers whose interest spreads to their students take the trouble to give context to what they are teaching. This often arouses the curiosity of the students who therefore work of their own free will. Your child's education is serious business, and you are right to seek solutions. Best regards, Julien

MerlvynChemistry (American Curriculum or Advanced Placement or Pre-IB or IB)
Educational Certificates and Awards Ministry of Education Teaching Scholarship (1998) Graduated from National University of Singapore, Bachelor of Science (2004) Graduated from Nanyang Technological University, Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (2005) College Board - AP Chemistry (2019) College Board - AP Calculus AB (2019) I have taught in an IBDP independent school for 5 years in Singapore, as well as in an American School offering APs for 5 years in Taiwan. I’m certified to teach in both courses. I was an EE supervisor while in the IBDP school for all 5 years. I was also a Chemistry Olympiad coach when I was at that school, as well as a pioneer teacher for an Accelerated Class for Science, which is a talent development program. Teaching was my first job and I love it. Interacting with students is the greatest joy besides helping them to learn and at the same time enjoy learning. I love Mathematical problems because they are like puzzles. Once I have the keys (concepts or relationships), I just have to figure out how to use them. It's almost like an escape room or jigsaw. Once I figure out how the pieces fit, there is the sense of satisfaction of solving it. Mathematics trains us in being resilient, systematic and logical thinkers and at times, our imagination and creativity. Science on the other hand, teaches us about ourselves and the world around us - how we interact with each other, how we interact with the world and how other objects or living things interact with each other. The joy of discovery keeps me going. It's always fun to discover something new. Of course, I love the experiments too. It never ceases to amaze students when they see how chemical reactions create something new, change in color, gases, light and heat, and how these can be useful in everyday life. It also teaches us to be respectful of natural laws and be good stewards of the earth and its resources. Available times: Summer break (June-July) - Weekday full days, weekends Sat (8am - 12pm, 5pm - 10pm) and Sunday (6pm-10pm). School days (Aug - May) - Weekdays (6:30pm - 10pm), weekends Sat (8am - 12pm, 5pm - 10pm) and Sunday (6pm-10pm).

PhilippMathematics courses (mainly) and support
Hello! I offer math lessons for various levels. Mainly for gymnasium / college students (but also for first semester Bachelor students (for example) or medical students, etc ...). I would also be happy to prepare a course on certain subjects if the student is interested and wants to tackle new subjects or branch of mathematics as far as possible (for mathematical culture or simply out of interest)! I prioritize reasoning in teaching, I think that doing without understanding is not very productive I can also provide support in physics. I hope to meet many students in need, and look forward to it! :) “It is with logic that we prove and with intuition that we find.” - Henri Poincaré. As for me, I graduated and am a math student. I am in Lausanne, but can travel to Geneva on weekends.
