During my high school education in Portugal, I found myself unchallenged and unmotivated by the math curriculum. I strongly believe that learning math is an active, creative process. ## Biography/Credentials ## Although I attended high school in Portugal and speak Portuguese fluently, I spent my earlier childhood in the United States. I studied at the University of Coimbra from 2016 to 2021, graduating with a degree in pure mathematics. My final GPA was 19/20, and I received the exclusive "Prémio Doutor Renato Pereira Coelho." My thesis was on geometric control theory, and I maintain an interest in differential geometry. After 8 months working in industry as a computer engineer, I decided that I needed to follow my passion in mathematics and am currently looking to start a doctorate degree.
